Seeing Doctor Octopus delighted over securing funding, Tony seized the opportunity to extend an invitation. "By the way, I've put together an alliance, specifically for scientists like you to discuss humanity's future."
"I'd like to invite you to join. What do you think?"
Tony asked casually, as though the idea had only just occurred to him.
Sure enough, Doctor Octopus thought nothing of it. He nodded and replied offhandedly, "Sure, no problem. I'd like to exchange ideas with my peers, too."

The instant Doctor Octopus agreed, the system's notification chimed in Tony's mind.
Although this wasn't his first time hearing it, the sound was music to Tony's ears every time, because it meant his strength was about to increase again. This incident had also revealed a loophole that wasn't quite a loophole.
No matter what pretext he used to get someone to join, as long as they agreed, the system would recognize it.
