Divination...
Repeated divinations and investigations had all proven Freddy's accuracy.
Indeed, S.H.I.E.L.D. had worked with Freddy many times.
Their dealings ranged from the uncanny building to intelligence on strange incidents in various regions.
What Nick Fury really wanted, however, was a way to grow stronger.
Only power could give him the confidence to face anything.
But the prices at Freddy's Fortune-Telling Shop kept rising, becoming harder and harder to put a value on.
This was Nick Fury's first personal visit to Freddy's Fortune-Telling Shop.
It had been a long time since Nick Fury had gone out to gather intelligence himself.
"Sir, in our last few transactions, Freddy's Fortune-Telling Shop required luck in exchange." Coulson recalled the days after he had traded away a little of his luck, still shaken by the memory.
"If possible, I'd rather never trade away my luck again." Coulson suppressed his unease and grumbled quietly.
"Welcome, customers." Freddy's gloomy voice drifted from the depths of the little shop.
Freddy seemed to have grown even more imposing.
Although Freddy had always been cold, he had seemed more like a person to Coulson before.
Now, Freddy gave Coulson a very bad feeling.
It was like facing a genuine uncanny entity.
But remembering that Freddy was an uncanny entity to begin with, Coulson stopped dwelling on it.
"Mr. Freddy, I've come to trade for information."
Coulson politely explained the purpose of his visit.
"Come in," Freddy said without a trace of emotion.
They went inside and took their seats.
"Your question!"
Coulson glanced at Nick Fury.
Nick Fury spoke. "I want to know why the vampires are openly violating their pact with humanity. What would the answer cost?"
Freddy's body seemed frozen in his seat.
Moving sluggishly, he took out a book and a coin.
"Fifteen portions of luck."
