"Hello, Mr. Tony Stark."
Although Professor X was astonished that Tony was immune to his ability, his gaze remained gentle, betraying no excessive surprise. "My name is Charles. I'm a mutant."
Charles felt that Tony Stark should be familiar with the concept of mutants.
After all, since 2002, many weapons designed to counter and target mutants had come from Tony Stark.

Many Weapon X devices had unusual effects and were highly effective against mutants. Almost all of them had been personally made by Tony Stark.
Some of the stranger weapons, in particular, went far beyond anything Charles could imagine and even left him shaken.
Charles felt that if Tony Stark remained hostile toward mutants, something unexpected might well happen.

In Charles's view, blindly opposing and killing others would never achieve his goal. It might even send things spiraling in a worse direction.
Charles decided to establish more numerous and deeper ties with organizations run by ordinary humans.
Stark Industries was his first choice.
He had looked into Tony's past. Tony was not an easy man to get along with, nor could he even be considered a good person.
Still, compared with many businessmen, he had some conscience and morals.
Charles had never expected Tony to possess a mechanical device capable of countering telepathy, even in such dire circumstances.
