At the entrance to the Wilson Building, Nick Fury had brought his men to surround the area.
He dispatched the few squads he had at his disposal to cut off the Wilson Building's communications.
He had thought the matter would be over once Natasha "took" Kingpin's secrets, but he had never expected Wilson to be so cautious.
Whether it was Kingpin's intuition or some other consideration, he had actually returned straight to the building.
With things having come to this, Nick Fury could only intervene himself!
Hopefully, Kingpin would not do anything stupid.
Inside the secret chamber, Kingpin and a dozen or so of his subordinates surrounded Natasha.
Natasha had not expected Kingpin to trust his subordinates enough to bring them inside.
Drawn by the commotion in the secret chamber, the men patrolling outside gradually gathered in the surrounding rooms.
Guards stood watch vigilantly outside the chamber.
Natasha's heart sank. There were simply too many of them. Fighting her way out no longer seemed realistic.
Kingpin was a cunning old fox. He saw through Natasha's intentions at a glance.
He exposed her identity outright. "Black Widow, Romanoff Natasha? A Level Ten agent from S.H.I.E.L.D. I don't recall S.H.I.E.L.D. ever having the authority to invade the private premises of a philanthropist and prominent businessman at will!"
This is bad! What alarmed Natasha was not that Kingpin had identified her, but the argument he was making.
With that justification, he could kill her and get away with it.
She had trespassed on someone else's private property without permission. Even shooting her on the spot could be justified.
Besides, S.H.I.E.L.D. no longer had anything like the authority it once possessed.
She could not produce a "valid" search warrant.
But how did Kingpin, a mob boss, know about S.H.I.E.L.D.'s problems?
"I don't know what
