A bizarre human face emerged from the enormous stone-like sculpture.
The massive sculpture had appeared underground, directly beneath the site of the final battle between the mutants and Sentry.
No one else had noticed its appearance.
But the trapped Shadowcat saw it. She could even make out its face now!
As Mordo continued releasing and absorbing power,
the alternation between the two exposed the sculpture's enormous eyes.
The instant the centers of those eyes emerged, streams of golden energy began gathering within them!
The sense of destruction radiating from that energy sent chills through everyone nearby!
As the eyes came fully into view, they suddenly unleashed blasts of energy! Those streams of energy ravenously devoured the creatures around them.
They gave no living creature time to react. Almost in the blink of an eye, they devoured the time of countless beings!
This devouring did not involve sucking creatures in and chewing or grinding them to pieces. Instead, it sent people somewhere to spend a brief stretch of time, yet once that time had passed, they lost vast portions of their lifespans.
Many ordinary people instantly became middle-aged or elderly, while many elderly people died outright!
The mutants were not spared from this slaughter either.
Watching from far away, the Trialists inwardly rejoiced at their good fortune.
Fortunately, they had been the first to retreat the moment they realized something was wrong!
They were no longer anywhere within that area.
Captain America looked troubled as he asked, "What should we do next? Keep fighting?"
Tony tinkered with squads of individually controlled robots, recording each robot's data.
