It wasn't as though there was no way to deal with it.

But why risk his life for a salary of a few tens of thousands?

In New York, being a police officer was a job, not an obligation.

That bureau handled strange incidents. Why should he rush in and get involved?

"Yes, Chief!"

The officer went to organize the report first, preparing to submit it to his superiors.

Soon, a group of people in sharp suits and large, dark sunglasses arrived.

Leading them was Model Employee Coulson.

"George, long time no see!"

Coulson greeted Police Chief George with easy familiarity.

S.H.I.E.L.D. had once tried to recruit George, too.

But S.H.I.E.L.D. required absolute secrecy, and George's wife had just become pregnant at the time.

So he hadn't accepted the invitation.

Coulson was clearly in poor shape.

He had dark circles under his eyes, and they were bloodshot.

Coulson listlessly exchanged pleasantries with George.

Then George took his leave.

"Search every corner thoroughly."

Fighting off sleep, Coulson led the search around the trash cans.

Coulson had barely gotten any proper rest over the past seven days.

Freddy and the Wilder Sect behind him had put Coulson and his team under enormous pressure.

Especially today.

Starting in the early hours, people had begun dying inexplicably.

After S.H.I.E.L.D. compiled the information, Coulson reviewed it.

He discovered that the victims shared two traits: they had all come into contact with Freddy, and none could be considered ordinary, law-abiding citizens.

Did that make the murderer a vigilante fighting for justice?

Of course, S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't pin its hopes on the killer only targeting bad people.

"Sigh..." Coulson wearily rubbed his thinning hair and let out a helpless sigh.

"Sir, we found another similar note."

Wearing gloves, an agent brought a slip of paper over to Coulson.
