For Sword Maiden's victory
Light snow drifted down, wrapping everything in silver.
"So cold."
When they were almost at Sunset Hall, Adele stuffed both hands into her coat pockets and hurried into the heated shopping mall with quick little steps. A wool scarf was wrapped around her neck, her small face flushed red from the cold. She reached up to brush the snowflakes from her left shoulder. "Lois, your umbrella's so small!"
"Then why didn't you bring one?" Lois snapped, taking back her umbrella. "The Meteorology Office told you it would snow!"
"Umbrellas are such a hassle..." Adele muttered, then looked back at Ingrid, who had two long legs exposed, her lower half dressed in a short skirt and knee-high socks. "Ingrid, are you really not cold?"
"I'm all right."
Ingrid pulled back her hood and shook the snow from it. "My constitution is already good, and recently I also tempered my body with the Miracle, Righteous Sword Body. My body retains heat very well. When I exercise, I even have to wear a jacket before I can warm up quickly."
Ever since Ingrid discovered that a skirt plus leggings offered more efficient mobility and heat dissipation, she basically never wore pants again. In fact, it was not just female artificers—even male Body Artificers commonly wore battle skirts. High-end battle skirts could even take part in combat. For example, the Saint Domain Artificer "Battle Dancer" wore a specially made long bladed skirt; once his body spun, the blades along the hem turned into a high-speed chainsaw, dazzling men and women alike.
Lois said, "'Righteous Sword Body'—wasn't that a Miracle even she didn't dare use before? I think she only dared train with the Sword Body Art Spirit."
"It is a little painful," Ingrid admitted frankly. "But it's not much."
