In this atrocious environment utterly unsuited for any living creature, the Spellcasters built layer after layer of high walls to channel the wind and sand, dug pools to collect moisture from the air, and burned gravel to raise roaring flames, forcibly carving out a temporary camp in a forbidden zone of life.
Vishy and Daedalus were grilling lamb chops and steaks over a charcoal stove. Fat sizzled over the flames, and the rich aroma of spices drifted through the camp.
Naturally, Spellcasters did not mistreat themselves when traveling. Aside from necessities like tents, they also used Space Rings to preserve fresh ingredients, so even in a world with nothing at all, they could enjoy a relaxed and pleasant camping life.
Supported by Felix, Ash came out of the tent and stared blankly at this world that was both familiar and strange.
