At 7:45 p.m., tonight's blood moon was bright as well, but beneath the lights decorating Central Avenue in World Film City, the bloodstained night could only serve as a dreamlike backdrop for the Float Parade.
Ordinary visitors could only watch from behind the cordoned-off barriers, but as the highest-level VIPs, Ash and the others could sit on the second floor of a roadside castle, drinking while enjoying the scenery below.
Ash was drinking juice when he suddenly nudged Sonia's elbow. "Look, that puffed-up cat looks like my girlfriend!"
Sonia looked over and saw a gray cat sitting on a float with its arms crossed, eyes wide and face full of displeasure, its tail swaying back and forth. It was adorably huffy.
Both annoyed and amused, she twisted Ash's ear and asked, "Which girlfriend of yours does it look like?"
"The cutest one!"
"Hmph." She rolled her eyes at Ash, leaned sideways against the carved railing, and gently swirled her wineglass. The vivid, sweet red wine contrasted sharply with her snow-white Bridal Gown, adding a trace of temptation to her flawless sanctity.
"I knew I shouldn't have said it so early," Ash said with a grin, propping up his chin. "It ruined your fun for the whole day. You kept lowering your head and racking your brains over how to cultivate... I could have wandered around World Film City carefree, but seeing you weren't in the mood, I had no choice but to wander around World Film City nervously too."
"So it's my fault?" Sonia crossed her arms and turned her head away in a huff. "In that case, I'm the one in the wrong. I seem so lacking in charm, falling further and further behind your other sweethearts."
Ash looked at the gray cat below, then at her, and nearly
