Mu Yi was captured by Zhong Xuezhi’s team after pursuing a Prismatic Mushroom, then traveled with them and grew close to Zhong Xuezhi while learning about the world beyond his Safe Base. The group prepared to enter the Ruined City to hunt another Prismatic Mushroom, and Mu Yi began braiding Zhong Xuezhi’s hair into a bracelet.

• Mu Yi chased a Prismatic Mushroom through the forest, but Zhong Xuezhi’s team found him and took him into custody after he collapsed from the mushroom’s poison.
• Mu Yi stayed with Zhong Xuezhi’s team, joined their hunt for Spine Celery and Giant Ants, and discovered how his electric flames could fight the mutated creatures.
• Mu Yi learned from Zhong Xuezhi that the Crystal Era began after a nuclear catastrophe, and he bargained for access to Zhong Xuezhi’s Snow Leopard ears and tail.
• A herd of Grade A warthogs attacked the campsite, and Zhong Xuezhi’s mutation surged before he bit Mu Yi and drank his blood in a cave.
• Zhong Xuezhi recovered and traveled with Mu Yi, who held his tail as they searched for food before returning to find Qi Tianhe’s group confronting their teammates.
• Zhong Xuezhi avoided a fight with Qi Tianhe by claiming Mu Yi was a separated thrill seeker, then explained his team’s plans and introduced Mu Yi to their mission.
• Mu Yi and Zhong Xuezhi teased each other as their teammates watched, and Zhong Xuezhi gave Mu Yi carved chopsticks and a spoon.
• The teams prepared to enter the Ruined City to catch a dangerous Prismatic Mushroom, while Mu Yi began braiding spider silk into a bracelet and Zhong Xuezhi offered him a lock of hair.

Mu Yi reached Crystal City with Zhong Xuezhi, explored the city, and grew closer to him while uncovering his own unusual ability to absorb and perceive bioelectric energy. When a Zombie Fungus infected Team 403’s healer and threatened the city, Mu Yi joined Zhong Xuezhi at the research institute, where he spotted a hidden signal the institute’s sensor could not detect.

• Mu Yi’s blood attracted Red Weasels in the Ruined City, and he escaped with Zhong Xuezhi and Team 404 while leaving Team 403 behind to fight them.
• Zhong Xuezhi took Mu Yi through the Teleportation Array to Crystal City, where the Mirage Wall rejected Mu Yi and he zapped Zhong Xuezhi and Team 404 in retaliation.
• Mu Yi registered as a newcomer, stayed at Zhong Xuezhi’s villa, and learned about the city’s dangers and the risks posed by rising mutation values.
• Mu Yi sold materials at the market, killed three men who tried to rob him, and then found Team 403’s healer acting strangely beneath a banyan tree.
• The healer became an S-rank Zombie Fungus Variant, prompting Zhong Xuezhi and the city’s leaders to seal Crystal City as spores spread through the air.
• Mu Yi learned that Professor Yin had been infected during the earlier S-rank invasion and wondered what she had concealed from Zhong Xuezhi before her death.
• Mu Yi absorbed shard crystals to strengthen his pheromone current, then accompanied Zhong Xuezhi to the research institute after the Zombie Fungus outbreak began.
• Mu Yi detected scarlet bioelectric signals on Feng Zhengqing’s assistant that the institute’s portable sensor failed to register, and Zhong Xuezhi asked what he found interesting.
