Nor did they know that the so-called Hoopa Unbound-Hoopa-had not actually been sealed away.
Only most of Hoopa's power had been sealed, and Ghris, who had created the Prison Bottle, had brought Hoopa to the Valley of Creation.
Cynthia knew none of this, either.
"According to Diantha, Hoopa Unbound was initially worshipped as a deity."
"Hoopa Unbound would give people gold, silver, and jewels. That was how the little town that preceded Dahara City was able to develop."
As she packed, Cynthia told Li Wei the story she knew.
Hoopa's ability to fish things out was somewhat similar to Jirachi's Wish.
Hoopa couldn't conjure wealth out of thin air. Hoopa simply fished it out of somewhere else.
Li Wei could easily imagine that, a hundred years ago, someone had probably gone from fabulously wealthy to penniless...
On the bright side, perhaps Hoopa had simply fished the gold straight out of a mine...
