The battle between Diantha and Bruno had reached its most critical moment.
With Gigantamax Machamp, Bruno had taken down two opponents in succession and severely injured Hawlucha.
But the price was that his Dynamax turns had run out, and Machamp had returned to normal.
Meanwhile, Diantha's Gardevoir had yet to use Mega Evolution!
The instant Machamp returned to normal,
Diantha pressed her Key Stone without hesitation.
"Gardevoir, Mega Evolve!"
Amid rainbow light, Mega Gardevoir made another dazzling entrance, its flowing skirt fluttering.
"My wife!"
"You can't-or at least, you shouldn't!"
"Gardevoir, Hypnosis!"
"Moonblast!"
Gardevoir gathered all its strength, and a brilliant torrent of moonlight slammed into Machamp.
Machamp let out a muffled groan, its massive body beginning to sway.
Although the attack hadn't knocked it out, it had pushed it to its limit.
"Moonblast!"
The torrent of moonlight finally engulfed Machamp.
Trailing white smoke from its mouth, Machamp collapsed helplessly.
"Machamp is unable to battle! Gardevoir wins!"
"With all six of Bruno's Pokémon unable to battle, the winner is Diantha!"
The final score stood at 6-5.
Facing a type disadvantage, Bruno had already given it everything he had.
The games couldn't fully convey how broken Psychic types were.
In reality, however, a Gardevoir capable of using Teleport was seriously broken.
That was why Diantha could hold firmly onto her throne even though Gardevoir was her only overpowered Pokémon.
Even Wikstrom, the Steel-type Elite Four member with a type advantage over Gardevoir, couldn't beat it.
Gardevoir's battle strategy was simple:
Teleport + Hypnosis + Mystical Fire.
Not a single one of Wikstrom's Steel-type Pokémon could withstand that, especially Scizor, with its quadruple weakness to Fire.
"Diantha won, just as expected."
The result hadn't surprised Lance, Steven, or the others.
"I should get ready to go out."
