After letting Kiawe, Lillie, and the others explore freely, it was time for the outdoor lesson to officially begin.
Brock sent out Exeggutor, Alolan Exeggutor, Geodude, and Alolan Geodude.
This was so they could compare the differences between Pokémon from the two regions up close.
"The Kanto Region's Geodude doesn't have eyebrows!"
Sophocles asked in confusion, "Are those really eyebrows?"
Next came Muk and Alolan Muk.
Compared with the multicolored Alolan Muk,
the Kanto Region's Muk was simply purple.
The moment Muk appeared, they enthusiastically wrapped Ash in a hug.
"What's this?"
"This is my Muk."
"Muk, long time no see."
Ash had just been wondering why Muk wasn't in Professor Oak's Backyard.
Kiawe was deeply saddened to learn that Kanto's Dugtrio lacked sacred whiskers.
"Don't be sad. You can wear my wig!"
Sophocles's mouth twitched.
"Why do you carry a wig around...?"
More importantly, Kiawe didn't need a wig either.
Ash could only explain, "Dugtrio from the Kanto Region naturally have smooth, bare heads."
"And finally, this fellow!"
Brock sent out Kanto's Marowak, then turned to Kiawe, who was still overcome with emotion.
"Kiawe, could you help me out?"
Kiawe sent out his Alolan Marowak as well.
The two Marowak butted heads as soon as they met, then rapidly spun the bone clubs in their hands.
Both Marowak were certainly stubborn.
"No fighting! No fighting!"
Brock and Kiawe hurried to break them up.
Mallow smiled. "Marowak have exactly the same fiery temper, don't they?"
The Marowak's battle set off a whole string of commotion. First, Pikachu was sent flying while trying to break up the fight, and Togedemaru, who looked up to Pikachu as their leader, joined the fray.
Then Pikachu made a heroic entrance and numbed everyone with a Thunderbolt.
