Ash, Kiawe, and the others chose to believe her.
Mallow and Lillie, on the other hand, were skeptical, because Lana had made jokes like this before.
She had a bit of a penchant for deadpan jokes.

They chose to believe her too.
Usually, when she couldn't fool them, Lana would admit that she was joking.
This time, though, Lana's expression didn't look like she was making it up.
Lillie had changed the most noticeably. The shadows that had occasionally clouded her eyes were gone.
Now Lillie's face was full of radiant smiles.
Lillie felt that her life was already very fulfilling,
And she had already achieved many of her goals.
She had managed to touch Pokémon, find her father, and awaken Magearna. She had already accomplished so much.
Besides, her family life was happy to begin with,
And her wealth alone was enough to let her live very happily...
On top of that, her family was harmonious, happy, and whole.
So Lillie no longer had any particularly lofty ambitions.
Her greatest goal was to interact with more Pokémon, learn more about them, and study Pokémon Breeding.
