After the meeting ended, President Samaranch, who was about to retire, asked Cynthia to stay behind.
President Samaranch smiled kindly.
"I'm quite interested in Li Wei. Could you tell me about him? I'd like to hear it from you."
President Samaranch had heard both Lucian and Mayor Luca share their opinions of Li Wei.
Professor Oak, Professor Rowan, and Professor Sycamore had all praised him highly as well.
President Samaranch had also gathered information about Li Wei online and learned about some of his accomplishments.
The more he learned about Li Wei, the more mysterious he found him. Fortunately, his character was beyond reproach.
That meant the Pokémon League didn't need to court Li Wei. It simply needed to make sure he wasn't treated unfairly.
The corners of Cynthia's lips lifted. "Of course. Where would you like me to start?"
President Samaranch said slowly, "I've heard you've known each other since childhood. If possible, I'd like to start there."
Cynthia took a sip of tea. "No problem."
"My grandmother and Li Wei's grandfather were friends, so Li Wei and I knew each other from a young age."
"You might laugh, but my grandmother and I were both terrible cooks. Little Roland simply couldn't stomach our food anymore."
"One day, Little Roland even slipped away to Li Wei's house when I wasn't looking."
President Samaranch laughed heartily. "Is that why you found yourself a chef?"
Cynthia couldn't help smiling. "That was one of the reasons. His food really is delicious."
President Samaranch smiled. "I'm getting more and more interested in his cooking."
Because of his work, President Samaranch still hadn't managed to visit Jubilife City and meet Li Wei.
But he would have a chance soon.
President Samaranch planned to make a quiet
