After a busy day,
Dayou turned on the television over dinner.
They watched a new show from Sinnoh NOW together.
After the Pokémon Theme Park opened,
Dayou and the others had moved their dinner time to 7:30 p.m., the same as Li Wei.
Having watched this episode being recorded, they were also looking forward to seeing how the broadcast turned out.
"Behind the truth: Pokémon appraisal."
The title of the first episode soon appeared.
Episode one: Disaster Pokémon? No! A warning bearer!
Amid an atmosphere that blended technology and mystery,
only a few focused beams of light remained in the studio.
In the center, a huge holographic projection platform slowly rose, with the silhouette of this episode's star hovering above it:
an elegant Pokémon with a crescent scythe on its head and a sharp, penetrating gaze.
Li Wei, Dayou, and the others knew this Pokémon all too well. It was Absol, known as the Disaster Pokémon.
Dayou remarked, "Isn't that silhouette way too easy to recognize?"
Mizuki shook her head. "You already know the answer, so of course you recognized it right away."
Lalami added, "And you can't assume everyone else knows as much about Pokémon as you do."
Lorelei nodded slightly. "They're right. Most people only have a very superficial understanding of Pokémon."
As someone in the Pokémon League, Lorelei understood this even better.
Just as Mizuki had said, most people's knowledge of Pokémon was patchy at best.
That was why the Pokédex had been created.
The Pokédex could educate novice Trainers,
and also help spread knowledge of Pokémon to some extent.
Plenty of people were completely lost without a Pokédex.
Dawn and Ash were examples.
