The words "fate unknown" left Xie De stunned for a moment. He set his wineglass down hard on the table, splashing some of its contents, then looked up at the young soldier. His brows drew together slightly, his expression darkening.
That wasn't right. Why would Glenson's troops be there? How had he learned Bearded Man's whereabouts? Was there a traitor or a spy in the army?
But even if he knew, wasn't Bearded Man under the Demon's protection? How could his fate be unknown? How could he have failed to even break out of the encirclement?
