Ant sent a message back to the Laboratory's other Squad in the Desert Instance.

"They disappeared near the Library's Eastern District. Analysis of data from multiple sources suggests they may have entered some kind of special space. At present, their chances look grim. Please advise."

The other Squad's captain was a blond man with green eyes, sunglasses perched on his head, and a dark black shirt and trousers. He looked like a rich young heir who had wandered out of some tycoon's mansion, with an air of careless indifference.

In truth, though, he was fairly mild-tempered.

Orion's voice came over the internal comms. "Silas, Meena is in danger! Why aren't you moving yet? If you ask me, we should unleash full suppressive fire and hit that area with a small nuclear blast. Shake up the space a little. That would definitely force them out."

Silas studied the screen closely and objected in a quiet voice.

"Your approach is too extreme. Besides, how can you guarantee they won't kill Mena? We don't know what this so-called special space even is. If its owner has absolute control inside it, then Mena would truly be in danger."

Orion scoffed.

"Then what do you plan to do?"

"Don't worry. I don't need your advice on that."

Silas ended the call with Orion outright, a trace of frustration flickering in his green eyes.

Ant volunteered, "Is there anything I can help with?"

"Yes." Silas smiled and said gently, "Ant, I remember you mentioned a system named 455 before. Can you contact it now?"

"Yes."

"I think we could have a talk."

"I understand. You want to trade our supplies for Mena's life? That is indeed a very good approach. Please wait. I'll be right back."

Heavy panting mingled with the pounding of racing hearts.
