When Roommate fell from the bed, blood had splattered all over Jia Ruiyao's face. He had only gone to wash it off after Li Xian reminded him.
If there was anything he had experienced that set him apart from the others... that was it.
He Tongtong clearly realized this too and blurted out:
"Blood... could Jia Ruiyao have died because he got blood on him?!"
"What nonsense are you talking about?"
Jiang Qiuyue instinctively objected, turning to look at Li Xian's expression.
He still looked fairly calm, but he did not deny He Tongtong's suggestion.
Jiang Qiuyue's heart slowly sank.
Could that really be the reason?
Qian Chen and Jiang Qiuyue both looked worriedly at Li Xian, but Li Xian himself merely said, unruffled:
"It's possible. Be careful, all of you. Don't get any of this stuff on you."
"I'll go wash my hand first."
With that, Li Xian turned and headed for the restroom.
Cold water washed over the back of his hand. He rubbed it a couple of times, and the tiny patch of dried blood vanished.
But that was hardly good news. After all, Jia Ruiyao had washed the blood off his face too. What mattered was the fact that he had "gotten blood on him."
Li Xian turned off the tap and slowly shook the water off his hands over the sink, thinking:
But when did I get blood on me?
Judging by how dry that drop was, it probably hadn't gotten on me within the last ten minutes. That pretty much ruled out anything after I went to He Tongtong's room.
Besides, from entering the room to examining the body, the back of my hand hadn't touched anything. If a drop of liquid like that had landed on my hand, I definitely would have noticed.
