Li Xian reached out and tried turning the key twice. It still turned normally, but the doll no longer moved in response.
It looked like it was completely broken.
Having reached that conclusion, Li Xian began picking up the waterlogged Doll Bears from the floor one by one. Once both hands were full, he tossed them all out the window, then repeated the process.
Seeing this, the Mushroom-Head Woman and Sweater Man hurried over to help. One found a mop to clean the floor, while the other put the hose attached to the faucet back where it belonged before helping Li Xian throw out the dolls.
While mopping, Sweater Man noticed the puzzle Li Xian had been assembling on the floor.
It looked like a puzzle with quite a few pieces—Sweater Man remembered that Li Xian had only completed a small corner when he first climbed into the room. Had he really finished nearly sixty percent of it in such a short time?
As that thought drifted through his mind, Sweater Man suddenly realized that the picture on the puzzle looked familiar.
This section was still far from complete, so he studied the outline of the assembled image carefully before realizing that it seemed to be...
Those toy bears from earlier?!
There was a passage written to the right of the toy bear. Compared to the rest of the puzzle, it was the most complete section, though a few gaps remained. Sweater Man examined it carefully, reading the fragmented text aloud under his breath:
"New from the Whimsy Toy Factory... wind-up Doll Bear... turn the key on its back to activate the doll..."
Sweater Man's eyes widened, and he looked down at the next line.
"The off button is right here!"
