Meanwhile, in the room next door, Hoodie Woman had sat trembling on the floor for a long time after her scream.
Before her lay Bearded Man, who had been lame in one leg and now had his belly split open. He was no longer breathing. As the ship rocked, his head lolled toward Hoodie Woman, his unseeing eyes seeming to accuse her of heartlessness.
Her own imagination made Hoodie Woman shudder. Unwilling to remain under his gaze, she slowly pushed herself up and sat back down on the bed.
...What had she done?
She rubbed at the blood on her hands, constantly replaying the scene from a few minutes earlier. As she thought, her rubbing spread the blood farther and farther, until both hands were almost entirely red.
She remembered...
The room had suddenly changed.
The walls had turned into bloody organs, and a pungent fishy stench had filled her nostrils. On her teammate's bed... a monster had appeared.
She still remembered the last time the fog had rolled in-the teammate beside her had suddenly vanished, and the storeroom they had spent so long searching had changed, too, filling with unfamiliar cargo.
So was this the same as last time?
Because the window had turned into an eye, Hoodie Woman had no way to confirm her theory, but she felt there was a very good chance she was right.
If that was the case... she just had to hold out until the fog cleared.
She warily watched the unidentified Fish-Headed Humanoid on the opposite bed, already convinced that this was a monster born of the fog.
At first, the monster lying on the bed did not notice her. Only when a notification that her mental value had dropped sounded in Hoodie Woman's mind did he sit up, fix his fish
