Li Xian stood beside the light switch, not daring to approach the window recklessly. He had no idea whether the darkness that shrouded the sky... had already crept silently onto his window.
The scene bore some resemblance to what they had encountered on the Bus when they first entered the Instance. The "black shadows" in both incidents were very likely the same kind of creature.
If so, the Residential Community ought to have a way to deal with them.
Li Xian recalled what had happened then-the black shadows had begun dissipating after the Bus stopped. Someone must have done something.
Aside from the Guide and the Driver... the only other person there had been someone covered from head to toe, holding a net.

Li Xian's eyes widened. On the illuminated streets of the Residential Community, at least a dozen residents lay sprawled across the ground.
Most had their eyes closed and lay completely motionless. From this angle, he could not tell whether they were unconscious or dead.
Li Xian quickly spotted the two players who had failed to enter the building in time among them. Fortunately, they soon began moving. It seemed they had merely fallen where they stood because of the sudden darkness.
The two scrambled to their feet and sprinted toward the residential building
