After a moment's thought, Li Xian set the Jadeite Rough in his hand on the floor. As soon as the item pressed against the gap under the door, it sensed the nearby danger and burst into brilliant green light!
The Honey Shadow, which had been trying to squeeze through the gap, immediately recoiled under the light. As the jadeite's glow dimmed, it emerged again, only to retreat once more when the light flared.
...Looks like this thing isn't very smart. It's just acting on instinct.
Although the item had temporarily "trapped" it, Li Xian knew this wouldn't last. Even if the Honey Shadow didn't try another way out, the jadeite's durability alone wouldn't hold up for long.
Li Xian quickly turned and walked into the living room. Fortunately, the Honey Shadow hadn't covered the windows here, and the light filtering through the glass let him vaguely make out the shapes of the objects around him.
Luckily, he had picked a lower floor-any higher, and there was no telling whether the streetlights would reach his room.
The first thing Li Xian did was try to turn on the living room lights, but these didn't work either.
Was there any other way to find a light source...?
He soon arrived at an answer-no.
His only option was probably to leave the apartment, but that clearly wasn't a good idea either.
As he thought, Li Xian heard the squelching sounds start up beside him again. He immediately turned and saw that the jadeite he had placed in front of the bedroom door was flickering, as though its battery were dying.
It can't hold out any longer...!
After briefly weighing his options, Li Xian immediately ran to the bedroom window.
The only way now is to lure it out of the room.
