The man in the hat instantly tensed up. At the same time, he felt his heart rate climb considerably again, and fear immediately filled him.
The man with the center part wasn't doing much better, though he still looked relatively calm. He had his fingers pressed to his wrist, counting his pulse.
"...One hundred and thirty-five!"
A minute later, he announced the number in a terrified voice.
"Think of something, quick!"
He spoke to his teammate beside him.
After a brief silence, the man in the hat gritted his teeth and pulled all his money out of his pocket, then said quietly:
"This is enough to buy five flashlights..."
"It won't work."
Li Xian suddenly spoke coldly from beside them.
"The light won't cover all the Honey Shadows, and there are only two flashlights left on that shelf."
As they spoke, all three of their heart rates kept climbing. Li Xian felt his pulse reach around 120 beats per minute, enough to cause noticeable discomfort. Perhaps because the other two were already nervous, their hearts were clearly beating much faster than his. They had begun clutching their chests and crying out in pain.
At this rate, we'll die!
The more frightened they became, the harder their hearts pounded. Of the three, the man in the hat was the first to give out, slowly collapsing to the floor.
Li Xian frowned deeply and turned his gaze toward the clerk and residents nearby-they still looked perfectly at ease.
