After considering their options, the two decided to head upstairs first.

The next flight led to the Fifth Floor. Once they reached it, they found no more stairs leading up. This was probably the top floor.

There were only two rooms on the entire Fifth Floor.

One was labeled "Director's Office," and the other "Head Nurse's Office."

A faint light shone through the gap beneath the former's door-it seemed whoever was inside was still awake. The lights in the latter room were off.

Li Xian and Cheng Xin exchanged a glance, then walked toward the Head Nurse's Office.

Cheng Xin turned sideways and slowly twisted the handle. After a soft click, he pulled the door open a crack.

He waited a moment. Only when there was no movement inside did he slowly open the door.

A neat, orderly office appeared before them.

A long wooden desk stood in the corner, with a stack of papers of unknown contents on top. A solid black fountain pen had been placed meticulously parallel to the edge of the stack, and the chair was tucked neatly beneath the desk.

There was another closed door to the right, apparently leading to the Head Nurse's resting room.

Both had fallen silent without a word as soon as they entered. Keeping their distance from the resting room, they walked toward the desk in the corner.

Li Xian approached and picked up the top sheet, while Cheng Xin pulled out the bottom half of the stack and leafed through it in his hands.

The sheet Li Xian had picked up bore the printed heading "Discharge Criteria."

Four conditions were listed beneath it in concise terms:

① Priority given to older patients

② Priority given to patients with more violations

③ Patients who have recovered must be discharged immediately
