Her slender, delicate feet were exquisitely proportioned, their insteps curving like crescent moons, clean and graceful without a trace of excess.
Her skin was as fine as creamy jade, faint blue veins barely visible beneath it, glowing softly under the warm yellow lamplight.
"There are differences in strength even among Dou Sheng, and the higher the rank, the wider the gap. At my level, even if I only defended passively, anyone below a Five-Star Dou Sheng could forget about hurting me in the slightest."
Fire Fairy lowered her lashes, not daring to look at Shen Luo.
Shen Luo froze, cursing inwardly. That ridiculous? Then how many years would I have to wait?
"Aunt Ling, what if it's just the usual sort of interaction between a man and a woman?"
Fire Fairy abruptly raised her eyes, her cheeks crimson. "I don't understand, but regardless... that... that would still require... the Dou Sheng level, at least."
Shen Luo frowned, clearly dissatisfied.
Was this a joke? I'd have to cultivate all the way to Dou Sheng just to do that? That made no sense.
But then he remembered the Creation Saint from the original story. With only a drop of blood essence and a wisp of remnant soul left, he had still beaten a whole group of Five-Star Dou Zun until they could no longer tell north from south. Clearly, a heavenly chasm separated Dou Sheng from Dou Zun.
And Fire Fairy was already a Late-Stage Seven-Star Dou Saint. Across the entire Dou Qi Continent, probably only Gu Yuan, Hun Tiandi, the Nihility Devouring Flame, and Black Annihilation King Gu Lie could reliably overpower her.
"What a headache. Dou Sheng it is, then. A good meal is worth the wait."
Shen Luo pursed his lips.
Since he could not eat that hot meal just yet, he might as well ask for a sip of soup first.
The night stretched on.
Shen Luo took brazen liberties with the beautiful woman in his arms.
An unknown length of time passed before the sun climbed high and all things awakened.
Shen Luo lay in bed with his arms around Fire Fairy, her alluring, delicate fragrance filling the room.
He rose and straightened her collar, then stood beside the bed, looking down at her breathtaking face.
"A truly peerless beauty. When will I finally be able to break through your defenses?"
The white light in his eyes gradually faded.
With his current cultivation, his Fire Control ability could not last very long after all.
The beautiful woman on the bed gently exhaled and slowly opened her eyes.
"Hm? Why am I in bed again?"
She gave a soft murmur and pushed herself upright.
Shen Luo looked over. Her dark hair was disheveled, her collar slightly askew, stray locks scattered across the pillow, and suggestive creases lingered in her clothing. Not a trace remained of the grace and dignity befitting a supreme elder of the Yan Clan.
Fire Fairy seemed to have a slight headache, her mind foggy, yet the tips of her ears were faintly red, revealing all her feminine allure.
"Shen Luo."
She called softly, "Why am I in your room, and in your bed?"
Shen Luo adopted a solemn expression, knowing he would have to offer an explanation. As for the rest, Aunt Ling would fill in the blanks herself.
"Aunt Ling, have you forgotten? Last night, you were worried about my injuries and came here, insisting on treating me yourself. Look, your clothes are still stained with the impurities you forced out of my body last night."
Fire Fairy lowered her head to examine the faint stains on her clothing. Her delicate brows creased; she seemed to remember.
Last night, Shen Luo had defeated Shi Hao and suffered serious injuries. Unable to stop worrying, she had come over in the middle of the night, and then...
She rubbed her throbbing forehead.
Afterward, because Shen Luo's injuries were so severe, she had pulled him onto the bed to examine him herself, forcing out the stagnant blood and impurities in his body and getting them all over her.
Apparently, growing older really did make one forgetful.
"Then... how are you? Are you feeling better?"
She turned toward Shen Luo, her voice so soft and tender it seemed water could be wrung from it.
A smile appeared on Shen Luo's face.
Sure enough, clever Aunt Ling had remembered again.
"With Aunt Ling treating me personally, even the worst injuries would heal in an instant."
He patted his chest, and the young man's hot, vibrant aura washed over her.
Fire Fairy's gaze stalled, her breathing unconsciously growing uneven.
"That's good. Young people must never let pride drive them into reckless competition. You must learn to judge the situation and retreat before the rapids sweep you away."
With that, she rose and lightly flicked her sleeves, sweeping away every lingering trace of intimacy from her clothing.
Then she straightened her red robes and pinned her glossy black hair behind her head.
Her expression turned cool, like frost and snow.
Watching Fire Fairy regain her composed elegance and sacred, inviolable dignity, Shen Luo swallowed again.
"A-Aunt Ling!"
"What is it?"
Fire Fairy looked puzzled.
"Can I hug you?"
Before she could respond, Shen Luo strode forward and wrapped his arms around her voluptuous figure from behind.
Fire Fairy had intended to rebuke him, but looking at his harmless expression, she could not bring herself to do it and let him hold her.
The boy was an orphan. Surely no one had ever cared for him like this while he was growing up.
"Aunt Ling, when no one else is around, could you call me... Luo'er?"
Shen Luo buried his face against her back, feeling that little bit of warmth through her clothes. The restless heat he had just suppressed quietly stirred again.
Fire Fairy hesitated for a moment, then finally sighed. "All right. From now on, when it's just the two of us, I'll call you... Luo'er."
As soon as she finished speaking, her body suddenly stiffened and her breathing faltered. A rosy flush spread across her exquisite cheeks. "Luo'er, what's that... pressing against me?"
"Hm?"
Shen Luo froze and looked down.
At some point, the crotch of his trousers had stretched taut, as though a ferocious beast lurked inside.
Fire Fairy seemed to realize what it was, and her heart trembled lightly.
She turned around and gently pushed Shen Luo away. "You're still young. You must calm your mind and focus on cultivation. You mustn't harbor... improper thoughts about me."
She spoke sharply, her mind now clear.
Shen Luo's physical reaction naturally could not escape her notice.
Although she could not feel angry with Shen Luo, or even bring herself to blame him, she could not bear to watch him stray down the wrong path.
After all, there was an immense gap between them in both age and strength. Nothing could ever happen between them.
"That Gu Xun'er girl-who is she in the Gu Clan?"
Shen Luo's eyes shifted as he changed the subject.
The beautiful woman's expression grew solemn.
"According to our clan's intelligence, Gu Xun'er is the daughter of Gu Yuan, the Ancient Clan Chief, and the only person in the Gu Clan with a divine-grade bloodline."
Fire Fairy seemed to recall the young woman in blue, and a flame flickered through her long, narrow eyes.
The Gu Clan really was powerful. They had actually produced another divine-grade bloodline.
"The Ancient Clan Chief's daughter? Aunt Ling, what cultivation level is the Ancient Clan Chief? How old is he?"
Seeing Shen Luo's puzzled expression, Fire Fairy chuckled. "Luo'er, Gu Yuan is a late-stage Nine-Star Dou Sheng, one of the strongest people on this continent. As for his age, well, he's a few hundred years older than me."
Shen Luo stepped forward and gently linked his arm through hers.
"Gu Yuan is a few hundred years older than you, Aunt Ling? What was the Ancient Clan Chief thinking, having a daughter at that age? He really is blessed."
Fire Fairy did not reject this intimacy. Without realizing it, she seemed to have grown accustomed to Shen Luo's scent.
"Why are you asking about this?"
"Aunt Ling, if Gu Yuan can have a daughter at his age, don't you... have any thoughts about it?"
Fire Fairy was visibly shaken. Her breathing grew slightly uneven, making the fabric over her chest rise and fall gently.
"L-Luo'er, after all these years, I'm used to being alone. I have no interest whatsoever in such matters between men and women."
Shen Luo's hand slowly slid down her fair arm and gently covered her warm, soft hands.
"Aunt Ling, that's where you're wrong. Gu Yuan gave the Gu Clan a child with a divine-grade bloodline!"
His expression remained perfectly composed as he clasped her bonelessly soft hand in his palm. "As a supreme elder of the Yan Clan, you have to consider the clan's future too!"
"If Gu Yuan can have a child, so can you, Aunt Ling!"
