After transmigrating into the world of Jujutsu, Yan Si used his pain-powered system to fight curses and made his way to Tokyo Jujutsu High. He enrolled alongside Suguru Geto, Satoru Gojo, and Shoko Ieiri, where his disruptive friendship with Gojo began.

• Yan Si awakened in his younger body with a system that rewarded pain, accepted its missions, and used self-injury to gain cursed energy before defeating two curses at his ancestral home.
• Yan Si traveled to Tokyo, where he rescued Kasumi Miwa from curses and met Suguru Geto, whose cursed spirits were drawn to Yan Si.
• Suguru Geto stayed with Yan Si when jujutsu higher-ups considered killing him, and principal Hatoyama Jushō arranged for Yan Si to enroll at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
• Yan Si and Suguru Geto registered as students, then became friends as Yan Si fed Geto an injured cursed spirit and joined him on a mission and a visit to Odaiba.
• Yan Si bought a skill that let him share pain with a chosen target and considered using it to provoke Satoru Gojo.
• Satoru Gojo and Shoko Ieiri arrived at Tokyo Jujutsu High, where Gojo and Yan Si joked about cursed spirits, sweets, and fighting while Suguru Geto and Shoko watched.
• Masamichi Yaga warned the first-years about the dangers of sorcery, and Yan Si remembered that Suguru Geto, Satoru Gojo, Kento Nanami, and Yu Haibara would die.
• During Yaga’s lessons and assessment briefing, Yan Si and Gojo proposed making their classmates experience pain, until Yaga shouted for them to stop.

Yan Si settled into life at Jujutsu High, sparring and joking with Satoru Gojo, Suguru Geto, and Shoko while concealing the truth about his cursed energy. After taking a solo mission and wandering off without permission, he returned with gifts for his classmates.

• Masamichi Yaga tested the first-years in combat and reaction drills, where Yan Si impressed the class with his precise dodges and earned an excellent result.
• As classes began, Yan Si showed off his quick grasp of cursed energy theory and explained his unstable readings by blaming his cursed-spirit-attracting constitution.
• Yan Si teased Satoru Gojo after Gojo accidentally injured his nose, then tricked Gojo with fake tears and rode on his shoulders until their antics ended in a shove.
• Yan Si chose an easy Grade 2 mission, used Pain Sharing to hurt the cursed spirit through his own wounds, and killed it with his Boning Knife.
• Yan Si stopped for ramen with Henshita Tsugina, then told him to return to school alone while he stayed out to have fun.
• Masamichi Yaga worried about Yan Si’s unexplained absence as Gojo and Geto discussed his departure, and Geto packed notes he had prepared for him.
• Yan Si returned to the dorms with souvenirs for Gojo, Geto, and Shoko, including a dress for Shoko that she carefully put away.
