Yuki Tsukumo wasn't angry, either.
She even smiled, a smile that said, "Just as I thought." Her shoulders relaxed slightly, and she folded her arms again. There was almost no disappointment on her pretty face at being turned down. Or rather, she hadn't expected him to give her any pleasant surprises in the first place.
"I wasn't expecting much from your answer anyway."
She said it frankly, without a trace of offense in her voice, as though stating an outcome she had anticipated long ago. Her gaze swept over Kashimo's face before she abruptly changed the subject, her tone turning casual, as if discussing something trivial.
"In that case, would you be interested in becoming a teacher at Jujutsu High?"
Become a teacher?
Now Kashimo was a little interested.
He remained slouched against the back of his chair, but his blue eyes shifted slightly, his gaze moving from the skewers on the table to Yuki Tsukumo's face.
A teacher. A teacher at Jujutsu High. His mind raced through a few things. The Ruyi Staff was sitting in Jujutsu High's Forbidden Vault.
It belonged to him. He had wielded it himself four hundred years ago, and now it was gathering dust under lock and key in the Forbidden Vault. If he became a teacher at Jujutsu High, getting his property back would be much easier. He would have every right to it-no climbing walls, no stealing, no arguing with the higher-ups.
He tapped his fingers lightly against the table twice. His expression remained as lazy as ever, but something flickered to life in his eyes.
Yuki Tsukumo, meanwhile, was thinking about something else entirely.
She studied Kashimo's expressionless face, busily calculating away. Recruit a Special Grade, then install him as a teacher at Jujutsu High, and those old men at the
