Ch. 41Ambush

Chiyo Shin and the Jujutsu High students defeated and captured Eso and Kechizu after rescuing Akari Nitta from their ambush. At Tokyo Jujutsu High, Satoru Gojo showed Yuki Tsukumo evidence that Suguru Geto might still be alive, and she questioned whether Tengen knew.

  • Eso and Kechizu ambushed the car, seized Akari Nitta, and demanded Sukuna's Finger from Chiyo Shin.
  • Chiyo Shin handed over Sukuna's Finger, then used Domain Expansion: Stillness of Yin and Yang to dismantle Eso and Kechizu and heal Akari Nitta.
  • Chiyo Shin told Megumi Fushiguro to take the captured brothers back for questioning, and Jujutsu High sent a vehicle to collect the group.
  • Choso learned that Eso and Kechizu had been captured by Yuji Itadori and the other first-years, then left, insisting his brothers would return.
  • Satoru Gojo told Yuki Tsukumo that Suguru Geto might still be alive and showed her the surveillance files.
  • Yuki Tsukumo asked whether Satoru Gojo had spoken to Tengen, since Tengen should have noticed Geto unless Tengen had allowed him to remain undetected.

Ch. 42The beginning

On Halloween in Shibuya, Kenjaku and Mahito set a Curtain trapping civilians and luring Satoru Gojo into a trap. Chiyo Shin escaped his guards and reached the sorcerers’ perimeter, where he warned Shoko Ieiri that Gojo must not enter Shibuya.

  • An old man and an elderly woman planted a Curtain stake atop Shibuya S Tower while Mahito filled the tower with transfigured humans and guarded their escape route.
  • Kenjaku and Mahito trapped a crowd in Shibuya beneath a Curtain and announced that the civilians would remain captive unless Satoru Gojo came, while Chiyo Shin’s arrival would mean their deaths.
  • The Jujutsu Higher-Ups ordered every active sorcerer except Chiyo Shin to mobilize, and Satoru Gojo agreed to keep Chiyo Shin away from the densely populated area.
  • Chiyo Shin recognized the Shibuya Incident as a trap for Gojo, used Stillness to incapacitate the seven sorcerers assigned to watch him, and launched himself toward Shibuya with Vibration.
  • Chiyo Shin crashed near Shoko Ieiri and warned her not to let Gojo enter the trap, so Shoko called Gojo.

Ch. 43I'm Going In

Chiyo Shin entered the Shibuya Curtain with Satoru Gojo and discovered that a Special Grade Cursed Spirit fused with the Curtain was targeting him. After leaving to investigate the barrier, Chiyo Shin found Yuji Itadori and Mei Mei and concluded that multiple sorcerers or mediums had reinforced it.

  • Chiyo Shin warned Satoru Gojo that Shibuya was a trap aimed at him and joined him inside the Curtain.
  • A Giant-Eyed Cursed Spirit used a substance carrying Chiyo Shin's presence to target the crowd, and a shadow diverted Chiyo Shin's attacks as the tentacles killed civilians.
  • Satoru Gojo explained how the substance tracked Chiyo Shin, and Chiyo Shin realized the cursed spirit was fused with the Curtain and left to find its caster.
  • Chiyo Shin searched outside the Curtain, then re-entered and used Vibration to locate the area near Meiji-Jingumae Station.
  • Chiyo Shin met Yuji Itadori, Mei Mei, and an assistant supervisor, then argued that the Curtain's strength suggested multiple sorcerers or mediums had reinforced it.

Ch. 44Lifting the Curtain

Chiyo Shin lifted the curtain at Meiji-jingumae Station, punished the curse users who had fed a corpse to a cursed spirit, and exorcised the eye cursed spirit outside. Meanwhile, Mahito filled a train with transfigured humans and set off toward the battlefield where Satoru Gojo was surrounded.

  • Chiyo Shin split up with Mei Mei, Ui Ui, and Yuji Itadori, then found three curse users feeding a corpse to a grasshopper cursed spirit.
  • Chiyo Shin destroyed the grasshopper cursed spirit, interrogated the curse users, and erased the formation that maintained the curtain.
  • Chiyo Shin discovered that overwhelming vibrations could penetrate the eye cursed spirit's black shadow and exorcised it.
  • Mei Mei, Ui Ui, and Yuji Itadori continued clearing transfigured humans after the curtain fell.
  • Mahito searched the fifth-level station, transfigured the people he found, and packed them into a train.
  • Mahito planted cursed energy in one remaining man and drove the train toward the battlefield where Satoru Gojo was surrounded.

Ch. 45Not too late

Chiyo Shin and Yuji Itadori found the fifth basement level of Meiji-Jingumae Station devastated, while Satoru Gojo fought the curses amid a murderous crowd. Gojo eliminated the transfigured humans, but Kenjaku opened the Prison Realm as Chiyo Shin arrived after destroying the train.

  • Chiyo Shin, Mei Mei, Yuyu, and Yuji Itadori reached the bloodstained fifth basement level, where a survivor died after revealing that the transformed people had been taken away by train.
  • Chiyo Shin rushed through the tunnel to support Satoru Gojo, who was pursuing Hanami through the packed station while Choso attacked him.
  • Mahito arrived by train with a load of transfigured humans, who slaughtered the crowd and generated cursed energy for him.
  • Hanami, Mahito, and Choso attacked Gojo together, and Gojo opened Unlimited Void for 0.2 seconds before killing all the transfigured humans in the station.
  • Kenjaku arrived and opened the Prison Realm, but Chiyo Shin appeared atop the wreckage after blowing up the train.

Ch. 46Battle

Chiyo Shin attacked Kenjaku and the Cursed Spirits, absorbing Hanami after revealing powers that had already taken Jogo. As Mahito tried to escape, Chiyo Shin was suddenly transported to a strange plain atop a stone pillar surrounded by Cursed Spirits.

  • Chiyo Shin warned Satoru Gojo away from the open Prison Realm, then attacked Kenjaku with slashes and a powerful uppercut.
  • Chiyo Shin drove Mahito, Hanami, and Choso to flee, while Satoru Gojo warned him that his attacks were damaging the station.
  • Chiyo Shin caught Hanami and absorbed him, gaining a new tattoo as Mahito attacked and then ran.
  • Kenjaku decided to take a gamble rather than risk confronting Chiyo Shin and Satoru Gojo to save Mahito.
  • As Chiyo Shin pursued Mahito's divided forms, his surroundings changed, leaving him atop a huge pillar amid countless Cursed Spirits.

Ch. 47The Eight Million Gods of Takamagahara

Chiyo Shin was trapped in a barrier filled with cursed spirits, while Kenjaku and Mahito attacked Satoru Gojo at the station. After escaping the barrier, Chiyo Shin returned to find Gojo struggling against them.

  • Chiyo Shin realized a barrier was trapping him when his attacks circled back, and he discovered that killing cursed spirits weakened it.
  • Kenjaku and Mahito resumed their attack on Satoru Gojo, using the crowd and Polymorphic Soul Isomers to create openings.
  • Satoru Gojo recognized that the man wearing Suguru Geto’s body was not his friend, and Geto’s hand briefly seized Kenjaku by the throat.
  • Kenjaku activated the Prison Realm, then joined Mahito in pressuring Satoru Gojo with cursed spirits and coordinated attacks.
  • Chiyo Shin slaughtered cursed spirits with repeated domain expansions until the barrier weakened, then returned to the station after only a little over ten minutes.

Ch. 48Multiple fronts

Chiyo Shin battered Mahito while Satoru Gojo tried to keep Kenjaku away from the crowds, and Tengen explained Kenjaku’s plan and his own history to Yuki Tsukumo. The chapter left Yuji Itadori and Choso fighting inside Shibuya Station.

  • Chiyo Shin disabled Mahito’s ability to reshape his soul, split his body apart, and forced him to form six clones and emerge from the sewer.
  • Yuki Tsukumo pressed Tengen, who revealed that Suguru Geto was Kenjaku’s body and explained the failed Star Plasma Vessel assimilation and Kenjaku’s plan to absorb humanity.
  • Tengen told Yuki Tsukumo that he would rather Chiyo Shin kill him and disperse Japan’s curses worldwide than let Kenjaku create one hundred million cursed spirits.
  • Choso found Yuji Itadori in Shibuya Station and attacked him with Piercing Blood, but Yuji took the hit on his arm and closed in for a close-range fight.

Ch. 49Memories That Never Existed

Yuji Itadori used water to disrupt Choso's Blood Manipulation and fought back, but Choso ultimately knocked him unconscious. As Choso prepared to carry Yuji away, memories that had never existed flooded his mind.

  • Yuji Itadori remembered Megumi Fushiguro explaining that water could disrupt blood and flooded the restroom by breaking its sprinklers.
  • Yuji Itadori attacked Choso from behind, and Choso discovered he could no longer control his blood.
  • Choso used Blood Meteorite to pierce Yuji Itadori's liver, but Yuji Itadori turned fear into cursed energy and continued fighting.
  • Yuji Itadori surprised Choso with a kick through a stall door and landed a Divergent Fist to his liver.
  • Choso crushed Yuji Itadori's shoulder and chest, leaving him unconscious, then picked him up to carry him away.
  • Memories that had never existed flooded Choso's mind.

Ch. 50The Vanishing of a Monster

Chiyo Shin trapped the seven Mahitos and brutally defeated them, then absorbed Mahito and gained a complete awareness of his own soul. Shocked by what he saw, he turned his attention to Kenjaku, who was being overwhelmed by Satoru Gojo.

  • Chiyo Shin used wooden walls to trap the seven Mahitos in an arena and challenged them to fight him hand to hand.
  • Mahito fused together and attacked, but Chiyo Shin repeatedly battered him and forced him to fight back.
  • Mahito used Polymorphic Soul Isomer and then shrank into an insect to escape, but Chiyo Shin found and captured him.
  • Chiyo Shin beat Mahito unconscious, absorbed him, and gained complete awareness of his own soul.
  • Chiyo Shin reacted with shock to what he saw within himself, then turned toward Kenjaku and called out to him.
