The three-day sacrificial ceremony soon came to an end. During that time, Sukuna ate grilled fish several more times and even tried the so-called sashimi, though it ended up making him vomit.
"I really don't know why the ancient Chinese liked eating this stuff. Was it passed on to Japan because it tasted so awful?"
At that thought, his mind suddenly wandered further. Should I sneak over to China and take a look?
China should be in the Song Dynasty right now, shouldn't it? Supposedly, its economy was incredibly prosperous.
Although Sukuna had been a shut-in in his previous life, he hadn't somehow slipped through nine years of compulsory education without learning anything. He still knew a little about these things, even if it wasn't much.
Forget it, forget it. I'll keep using this terrifying body to scare the Japanese here. If I went to China, I might end up in the Classic of Mountains and Seas.
Ultimately, after giving it a little thought, he decided to stay and build his power here. After all, the main storyline was about to begin, and he couldn't predict what would happen if he left now.
"Let's go meet the emperor. Hopefully, he knows what's good for him. Otherwise, I could always become the king of all Japan myself!"
He stretched his six limbs, then raced toward the Imperial Palace. For some reason, Japan's Imperial Palace stood in a dense forest. Perhaps their emperor was so afraid of assassination that he didn't dare build it in a busy city. After all, how much courage could anyone expect from a bunch of people barely over a meter thirty tall?
"Who dares trespass on the Imperial Palace?!"
Just as they reached the palace's main gate, a group of dwarfs surrounded them, waving samurai swords more than two meters long as though trying to drive them away. It looked utterly ridiculous.
I really don't know how Snow White managed to live so shamelessly with the Seven Dwarfs. These little guys don't look like much. He silently mocked Snow White's taste.
The guards before him had clearly never seen such a terrifying figure. The fear in their eyes seemed ready to spill out, and quite a few were trembling so badly that they didn't even dare draw their swords.
Without wasting words on them, he raised a hand and unleashed Dismantle. The area fell silent in an instant, and the ground gained quite a few guards cut in half. Their numbers had increased considerably, but not one of them spoke.
"How utterly boring. Why are you all mute?" Sukuna spread his hands helplessly, taunting the half-guards strewn across the ground before him.
"Hahahaha!"
Accompanied by his wildly arrogant laughter, Sukuna slowly walked into the Imperial Palace. Uraume followed close behind him without missing a step, showing neither pity nor sympathy for the corpses ahead. Even Uraume stood considerably taller than these guards.
Once Sukuna had passed fully through the main gate, more than a dozen Jujutsu Sorcerers leaped down from the rooftops.
"You must be the guards Jujutsu Society assigned to the emperor, right? Get out of my way, and I'll spare your worthless lives!"
Sukuna arrogantly pointed at the ashen-faced Jujutsu Sorcerers before him, then waved them aside. He intended to walk straight through their ranks without even looking at them.
"Ryomen Sukuna! What exactly are you trying to do? Don't tell me you intend to kill the emperor!" The Jujutsu Sorcerers looked grim. After all, they recognized the infamous four-armed monster before them.
"You've got some backbone, huh? Planning to fight me to the death?"
"Hahaha! What a joke!"
The Jujutsu Sorcerers tightened their grips on their cursed tools, but not one dared advance on their own. They merely kept issuing verbal warnings.
"The emperor is in there! Do you want every Jujutsu Sorcerer in Japan hunting you down?"
"What a joke! You think the likes of you are fit to hunt me down? You'd just be lining up to die. You really think you're something special."
The dozen or so Jujutsu Sorcerers stepped forward together. The strongest among them was merely a Semi-Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer. Although this was the golden age of Jujutsu Sorcerers, no Special Grade Sorcerer wanted to protect an ordinary person, even if that ordinary person was the emperor.
"Then die!"
At those words, the Jujutsu Sorcerers' expressions grew even graver. Cursed energy surged uncontrollably through their bodies as they prepared to step forward and fight to the death.
"Domain Expansion: Malevolent Shrine."
In an instant, endless darkness swallowed everyone before him. As the domain fully unfolded, its sole light illuminated a terrifying shrine ahead. It was an enormous mouth, looking exactly like the one on Sukuna's stomach, only much larger.
"Then let me show you what the ultimate power looks like!"
Sukuna stood atop the shrine as blood-red light slowly spread behind him.
"Cleave."
As Sukuna changed his hand gesture, a powerful slash appeared out of thin air. Those before him had no chance to resist and fell one after another. Even the strongest Semi-Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer was no different from an ordinary person before that strike.
"Cough, cough... Sukuna really is strong!"
"Uh..."
Hearing those all-too-familiar words, Sukuna's expression changed instantly. Don't tell me every opponent I kill with my own hands is going to say that before dying. How pathetic!
As indiscriminate attacks rained down on the street, the Semi-Special Grade Jujutsu Sorcerer was reduced to a heap of mangled flesh.
As the domain slowly dissipated, Uraume's face showed not the slightest concern. If Sukuna hadn't insisted on handling it himself, Uraume could have easily crushed these so-called personal guards as a Special Grade Sorcerer.
"Now, let's go see just how exalted His Imperial Majesty really is. Hahaha!"
The ordinary guards who had witnessed everything didn't dare take another step forward. The personal guards they regarded as gods had already been chopped into a pile of minced meat. That left even fewer people willing to throw their lives away.
Sukuna soon found the palace where the emperor resided-the Yamato Hall. "I really don't know why they'd use these colors for decoration."
The sprawling palace complex before him was painted almost entirely white, with black tiles covering the roofs. It had no air of grandeur whatsoever and instead looked far too plain.
"It's so ugly. No wonder they have to copy everything from China. With taste like this, they're worse than primitive savages. Even savages know to paint a few bright streaks on their faces for decoration, but these people only know how to use black and white. It looks like a funeral."
The guards at the Yamato Hall were already trembling where they stood, not daring to block Sukuna's advance. Just like that, he walked into the emperor's residence without encountering any obstacles.
"Emperor, let's have a little talk!"
