Vacation

Vacation soon arrived as promised, and Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto left one after the other.

An elder from the Gojo Clan came to take Satoru Gojo home, while Suguru Geto left Jujutsu High early the next morning.

Apparently, Suguru Geto had even stopped by to say goodbye to Sukuna before leaving, but Sukuna had no memory of it. He had probably been sleeping too deeply.

Shoko was the one who told Sukuna about it. Otherwise, he might never have known.

"Shoko, are you planning to stay at Jujutsu High for the entire vacation?"

Sukuna leaned his upper body over the railing, holding a cola in one hand and a large chicken drumstick in the other. Shoko sat beside him.

For the record, Sukuna was drinking the cola in the red can, not draft cola.

"Me? Unless something comes up, I probably won't leave. I'm just support staff, after all. They won't send me out to exorcise cursed spirits."

A bottle of hard liquor sat beside Shoko. As usual, she drank straight from the bottle instead of using a glass.

Sukuna marveled inwardly at how hard this woman could drink. He finished his drumstick and tossed the bone into the greenery below.

The bone would decompose into fertilizer anyway, so he was doing his part for nature. There weren't many men left who were as handsome and compassionate as he was.

"What about you? What are you planning to do?"

When Shoko asked what he planned to do, Sukuna found himself at a loss for an answer. He hadn't thought of going anywhere at all.

He had planned to lounge around here until classes resumed, but that seemed far too boring.

"I'll head out and wander around every now and then. It's not like I have anything else to do."

Shoko nodded and said nothing more, continuing to drink her liquor.

The two stayed there watching until dusk fell before finally leaving the wooden railing.

"Days like this are seriously boring. I might leave tomorrow. No telling when I'll be back."

Just as they turned away from each other to leave, Sukuna suddenly spoke.

"Okay."

Shoko said nothing else. Her steps paused only briefly before she continued toward the dissection room.

She wanted to dissect a few more lab mice while she had alcohol in her system. Her precision improved dramatically after a drink, after all.

She had already stayed up for several nights.

Sukuna kept walking after saying his piece, never pausing for even a moment. He had never been one to stop for anyone else.

I'll have a good look around Tokyo tomorrow. Who knows? Running into an old acquaintance would be pretty nice, wouldn't it? Sukuna came up with a plan for himself.

The odds of meeting someone familiar might be low, but they still existed.

He might know those people without them knowing him, but as long as Sukuna recognized them, they qualified as old acquaintances.

After all, he knew the plot inside out.

The night passed quickly. After dissecting two mice, Shoko had fallen asleep on the dissection table.

Sukuna, who never got up early, rose bright and early that morning. It might have been the earliest he had ever woken up.

And he had woken naturally, too.

After getting up and dressing, he teleported straight to the entrance of Jujutsu High.

He left Jujutsu High without looking back. He had already decided to get breakfast at a fried chicken restaurant first.

Then he would wander around, and if he found nothing interesting, he would return that evening.

With his plan settled, Sukuna headed straight for KFC. He might not have any money, but he could run fast.

After enjoying a satisfying feast of fried chicken, he bolted right in front of the staff. No matter how hard they chased him, they couldn't catch up.

Please. It would have been strange if they could catch him that easily.

While wandering aimlessly, Sukuna spotted a handheld game console in a shop.

"This thing should be pretty good for killing time."

Looking at the console, Sukuna figured it would be much more fun than the phones available these days.

His figure vanished from the spot. On another street, Sukuna held the console in his hands and played some of its odd little games.

Seeing The King of Fighters on the console made Sukuna feel as though his youth had returned. He had been an absolute beast with Mai Shiranui.

When he passed another fried chicken restaurant, he hesitated for only a moment before leaving with a family bucket in his hands.

He found a run-down street with few people around. The area probably hadn't been redeveloped yet, and most of its residents were elderly.

He squatted in a corner playing The King of Fighters, occasionally stuffing a piece of fried chicken into his mouth.

The tender, juicy chicken burst with flavor at every bite. It was delicious enough to touch his soul.

As he ate his chicken, Sukuna suddenly felt a pang of regret. Why hadn't he grabbed a cola earlier?

Just then, two children caught his attention.

"Megumi, I told you not to fight. No more fighting."

A long-haired girl held a bottle of iodine antiseptic and dabbed it onto the head of a boy who looked like her younger brother.

It wasn't that the scene was particularly heartwarming. What really caught his eye was the kid's sea-urchin hair.

The little boy wore a stubborn expression on his cool face. "I told you to leave me alone."

Of course, the girl knew her younger brother had fought those people to get back at them for her.

They had poured milk into her schoolbag, and her younger brother had happened to see it. That was why the sea-urchin-haired boy had rushed at them.

The girl smiled and patted the little boy's head. "You're so sweet, Megumi."

"Hmph. I didn't do it for you."

The sea-urchin-haired boy blushed a little, but he remained stubborn, refusing to admit he had gotten beaten up because he was standing up for her.

"When I grow up, I'm going to beat their teeth right out of their asses," the sea-urchin-haired boy said indignantly.

If they weren't bigger and taller than him right now, he would have beaten those boys until they ran crying for their parents.

"All right, all right. But no more fighting, Megumi."

The little girl was still smiling, her expression full of kindness.

Sukuna crushed the console in his hand, wild with delight. Hahahaha! I actually ran into these two!

That was right. The two before him were none other than the hidden protagonist, Megumi Fushiguro, and the plot-driving machine, Tsumiki Fushiguro.

Sukuna had never imagined that simply finding a random corner to eat fried chicken and play games would lead him to two such important characters.

Even heaven was helping him. If he hadn't known that his own identity represented evil,

he would have thought he was heaven's chosen child. He was just so, so, so, so, so lucky!

The two children didn't notice that Sukuna's face had already begun to twist in the corner.

Otherwise, they would definitely have left immediately, because Sukuna looked more like a complete pervert right now.

"Megumi, do you think Mom and your dad will come home today?"

The cool expression on Megumi Fushiguro's face didn't change, but a trace of disappointment flashed in his eyes. "Probably not. He hasn't come home in so long. He's probably forgotten about me already."

"Megumi, you shouldn't think that about your dad. If he really had forgotten about you, why would he send us money for living expenses every month?"

Tsumiki Fushiguro patted the little boy's head and thoughtfully blew on his wound a few times.

Those gestures made the little boy blush. He backed away as he said, "It stopped hurting ages ago."

"Besides, if that man remembered me, why would he stay away for so long?"

Whenever that man came up, Megumi Fushiguro's expression grew complicated, caught between longing and disgust.

"Mom and your dad must have their reasons. They're definitely busy with work, and that's why they haven't come back. They'll be home for New Year's for sure."

Tsumiki Fushiguro took Megumi Fushiguro by the hand and led him toward their home.

Run-down little streets like this were usually home to elderly people with no one to look after them.

Megumi Fushiguro and Tsumiki Fushiguro had only moved here recently. At the time, her mother had just married Toji Fushiguro.

Megumi Fushiguro's name had been changed then, too.

Rather than an ordinary marriage, Megumi Fushiguro's father had married into their family.

Toji Fushiguro's goal had been simple: to find a babysitter for his son.

Marrying into the family also earned him some money. As the Sorcerer Killer, Toji Fushiguro saw nothing wrong with that arrangement.

In fact, he thought he had scored a great deal. Money didn't come easily, after all.

Sukuna followed them all the way to Toji Fushiguro's house.

Only after both little brats had gone inside did he leap onto the roof of Toji Fushiguro's home.

After observing for quite some time, he discovered that Toji Fushiguro wasn't home.

It seemed his excitement had clouded his judgment. Why would Toji Fushiguro be home? The man had paid little Megumi Fushiguro no attention whatsoever.

"Haha, looks like I've really hit the jackpot this time. I can finally meet the so-called Heavenly Restriction Tyrant. This is so exciting."

When it came to physical combat alone, if Toji Fushiguro claimed second place, no one would dare claim first.

His terrifying physical strength, combined with the Special Grade Cursed Tools he possessed, put him beyond the grading system used for jujutsu sorcerers.

He had needed fewer than ten moves to grievously wound Suguru Geto, who was already a Special Grade Sorcerer.

And he had nearly killed the young Satoru Gojo.

The only reason he hadn't finished the job was a moment of carelessness. Otherwise, Jujutsu Society would have lost a Six Eyes sorcerer.

Although he was ultimately killed by Satoru Gojo, his strength had earned everyone's recognition.

He had truly earned the name Sorcerer Killer!
