The Doom Octopus writhed, drawing steadily closer to the two men.
Qin Siyang was about to attack, but Li Tianming caught his arm and shook his head, warning him not to act rashly.
"What do you mean?"
Li Tianming shook his head. "Don't attack. You can't kill it. It won't attack you first anyway, so don't go looking for trouble."

They watched the Doom Octopus's enormous tentacles roll and twist across the ground as it crawled up to them.
The tentacle that stopped two steps away from Qin Siyang stood half a head taller than him.
It was covered in mucus.
Strangely, though, despite crawling all that way, its tentacles hadn't picked up any dirt.
Qin Siyang tilted his head back to look up at the octopus's head, which towered far above even the Ghost-Faced Heron.
A pair of enormous eyes, constantly secreting mucus, stared straight into his.
The dim blue light from the cave walls reflected in those eyes, and Qin Siyang actually sensed a cold arrogance in them.
Mucus flowed from the Doom Octopus's eyes, while the muscles across its body pulsed irregularly, spreading the mucus over its entire body.

An enormous drop of mucus landed on Qin Siyang's shoulder.
At the same time, he caught the odor mixed into it.
He had assumed the octopus had no smell, or at most a faint fishy odor, because even when it reached them, he still hadn't smelled anything.
Not until that drop landed on his shoulder, splashing onto his mask and clogging its breathing holes.
An overpowering stench of rotting corpses immediately flooded his nostrils.
