"Knock, knock, knock."
Someone knocked on the door of the Secretary-General's conference room.
Qian Wendao glanced at his watch, his brow creasing slightly.
Wei Rulai, who had remained connected to the meeting remotely, was reviewing documents with his head lowered. At the sound, he looked up. "How long has it even been? They've finished the report already?"
Qian Wendao shook his head. "The governor of State No. 2 is Chen Zhongming. He's always meticulous and steady in his work. He'll investigate everything thoroughly before reporting to me. It's been too little time. This probably isn't about the report."
"Come in."
But the person who pushed the door open was not a staff member from the Secretary-General's office. It was Qin Siyang.
Both men were a little surprised to see him.
"Xiao Qin, what brings you here?"
"Well, something major happened, so I came straight here instead of returning to Sigma District."
With a grave look in his eyes, Qin Siyang closed the door. He was just about to speak when he noticed Wei Rulai on the screen.
"Commander Wei, are you discussing something with Secretary-General Qian? Am I interrupting?"
Wei Rulai shook his head. "We weren't talking. We're waiting for news. It should arrive soon."
Seeing Wei Rulai's grim expression, Qin Siyang did not press him.
Qin Siyang pulled over a chair and sat down. "Sorry I'm late. Something came up."
Qian Wendao gave a slight nod without asking what Qin Siyang had been doing.
Since Qian Wendao said nothing, Wei Rulai did not ask either.
Qian Wendao said, "Do you know what happened?"
Qin Siyang nodded. "Yes, I saw it through the live broadcast from the Safe Zone. They wandered around inside our Safe Zone, killed more than thirty people, took their bodies, and left. But I'm worried those
