Qin Siyang piloted the Drill Pod through the earth, twisting and turning like a crafty loach. He kept veering left and right, afraid someone might be following him. Only after confirming that nothing was amiss behind him did he step on the accelerator. The Drill Pod surged forward, heading straight into Quan Taibin's underground hideout.
There was no door to the underground area, so Qin Siyang appeared inside Quan Taibin's room without warning.
"Ah, shit!" Quan Taibin jolted, sending the tweezers in his hand flying. They struck a metal block on the lab bench.
When he saw that it was Qin Siyang, he finally breathed a sigh of relief. Clutching his chest, he complained, "Qin Siyang! Could you give me a heads-up next time? Appearing out of nowhere like that could scare someone to death!"
"You were just too absorbed in your work. You're at Sequence Level Six, yet you didn't even notice the vibrations underground. What are you doing?"
Quan Taibin stood at the lab bench. "Research, obviously."
Qin Siyang glanced at the parts scattered across the bench and frowned. "Still studying the secrets of disc carapace?"
"No." Quan Taibin shook his head. "I studied disc carapace before because I thought nobody else was working on it. That made publishing papers easier and getting promoted faster. Now that my research into disc carapace has forced me to live in a hole in the ground, why would I keep studying it?"
"Then what are you researching?"
"God-Hunting Artifacts." Quan Taibin's eyes gleamed. "You gave me quite a few rare god materials, along with some God-Hunting Artifacts I'd never seen before. It would be a waste not to study them."
