Just as the boy with slicked-back hair raised his foot to kick him again, a girl's voice rang out, simmering with anger. Then his body stopped obeying him.

The instant the words fell, he swung a fist at the skinny boy standing next to him.
"Pfft-cough, cough! Are you crazy? Why are you hitting me?"

The girl realized something was wrong, her expression turning panicked. "Stop! Stop fighting!"

The two boys finally stopped hitting each other, but they seemed to have forgotten their earlier terror as they looked me up and down with lecherous eyes.

Ignoring those walking corpses, I bent down and offered Junpei Yoshino my hand. "Are you okay? Can you stand?"
"I'm... fine." He hesitantly laid his hand in my palm and used it to pull himself up, cautiously watching my expression as he did.
I gave him a bright smile. "How about I get revenge for you?"
The two boys beside us acted as though they'd heard a joke. "Hahahaha! What? If you take good care of us, maybe we'll let you live! Hahahahahahaha!"
Their lust really knew no bounds. They were laughably stupid.
Absolutely disgusting.
Junpei Yoshino nudged me. "You should go. This has nothing to do with you. They're after me."
I shielded him behind me and turned to face their disgusting faces.
My gaze turned cold, and I spoke softly. "Oh? You'll let me live?"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. We know how to treat a lady... Beating you to death would be such a waste! Hahahahahahaha!" As he spoke, he even stepped closer and tried to touch my face, apparently eager to die.

"Ahhh! My hand!" He stared in horror at his cleanly severed arm.
"A ghost!" The boy beside him fled toward the mouth of the alley in terror, only to hit some sort of barrier. He couldn't get out at all.
I walked toward them, one step at a time, blood spattered over me from the severed arm of the boy who had fainted from fright.
"N-no! Stay away! Do you know who my dad is? He won't let you get away with this!" One of them was still putting up a desperate front.
"Please! I didn't do anything! Let me go, please!"
A puddle of unidentified yellow liquid spread beneath him, the stench of urine rising from it.
I frowned. "Disgusting."
"Since that's all you can think about, let's see how you manage next time. [Burst.]"
Splat! Blood burst from the three boys' crotches, spraying through their pants in a bloody mist. Between the sudden blood loss and the shock, they passed out on the spot.
I smiled in satisfaction, dusted off my perfectly clean hands, and turned to advance on the girl cowering in the corner.
"You love making false accusations, don't you? [Then you'll never speak again.]"
"Mmph! Mmm, mmm!" She covered her mouth in terror, tears streaming down her face.
"Tsk. So ugly."
"[Fall asleep. You'll forget everything that happened today and believe it was all caused by a falling-out among yourselves.]" That included the old man who'd been hiding behind a window and watching the whole time.
Once I'd taken care of everything, I suddenly froze.
Crap. I got so carried away I forgot Junpei was still here.
I turned toward the dumbstruck Junpei Yoshino and asked a little guiltily, "...Are you scared? Do you think I'm cruel?"
He shook his head. "No. Thank you for today."
"Okay, okay! That's good. I was afraid you'd think I was too cruel and be scared of me. I wouldn't even know where to go cry." I even covered my face and pretended to sob.
Poor Junpei immediately panicked and hurried to explain. "No, no! You were really cool! You were like a god, swooping in to save me!"
"Wow! Really?" I looked up at him with a smug smile, without the slightest sign that I'd been crying.
The girl's eyes curved with her brilliant smile, like gentle winter sunshine illuminating a dark corner of his heart. A warm, tingling feeling spread through him, and his heart skipped a beat. He hurriedly looked away, not daring to meet her eyes.
Junpei Yoshino blushed at once. "Really..."
I took his hand. "Yoshino, what's your given name? I'm Takechi. You can call me Edano or Little Edano!"
"Junpei Yoshino. Just call me Junpei..."
