Ch. 462Black Transformation Control

Doflamingo died after warning Luffy that the world would sink and the World Government was calling forces to fight Gawain in Britannia. As factions gathered for the coming war, the Five Elders discussed Imu’s Black Transformation Control and wondered whether sharing his lifespan served a hidden purpose.

  • Doflamingo revealed his vision of Nika, warned Luffy that the Red Line would sink within two years, and died.
  • Kid read reports about the sinking world and the World Government’s moon arks, but Luffy refused to abandon his promise or flee; Kid reaffirmed his support.
  • Hancock rejected Elder Nyon’s demand to side with the World Government and began moving the Kuja to higher ground while waiting for Rayleigh.
  • Sabo went to Britannia, while Dragon took Kuma and Bonney toward Mary Geoise; before they parted, Dragon gave Sabo the More-More Fruit, which Sabo ate.
  • Germa, King and Big Mom led forces toward Britannia, while the Five Elders celebrated that their bait had drawn major powers into the war and revealed that only ten arks existed for the Celestial Dragons.
  • Saturn said Imu’s Black Transformation Control shared his lifespan, and he cited a decoded record describing sharing as a way to make the harvest more efficient.

Ch. 463Crocodile Joins the Crew

Crocodile arrived in Britannia seeking an alliance with Gawain, but Gawain tested his loyalty and demanded he answer for the people harmed by his past actions. Gawain revealed that he had a way to deal with the sinking world, leaving Crocodile stunned by the possibility that Britannia could rise into the sky.

  • Imu's Five Elders reassured themselves that Imu still needed them and vowed that Britannia would submit or die.
  • Crocodile and Daz Bones found Britannia's harbor deserted and realized civilians had been evacuated ahead of the coming disaster.
  • Gawain confronted Crocodile and threatened to kill him, but Crocodile knelt and begged him to spare his companions.
  • Gawain accepted Crocodile's companions because Daz Bones had stood up for him, but insisted that Crocodile repay the people harmed by his past actions after the war.
  • Gawain led Crocodile's group toward a base and said he had his own way to handle the sinking world.
  • Gawain pointed to the sky and said Britannia would be part of the solution, but not the only part, leaving Crocodile bewildered.

Ch. 464Open Fire

Crocodile arrived at Skypiea and learned that Gawain had built Avalon, a warship based on the Pluton Blueprint and more powerful than the original. As the world’s forces gathered to attack Britannia, Katakuri received Crocodile’s warning that Britannia had an Ancient Weapon and was urged to flee.

  • Crocodile recognized Gawain’s flying warship as Pluton, and Gawain revealed that he had built Avalon using the Pluton Blueprint and other technologies.
  • Gawain invited Crocodile to meet Britannia’s powerful fighters, while Crocodile realized how dangerous his new ally was.
  • Half a month later, Big Mom and King prepared to attack Britannia with the assembled pirate forces, while Akainu waited for intelligence before opening fire.
  • Saturn ordered Akainu to destroy Britannia, but Aokiji and Kizaru stopped him after Drake’s decrypted intelligence revealed that Gawain also had an Ancient Weapon ready to fire.
  • Katakuri resisted pressure from his siblings to join the battle, warning them that his Observation Haki sensed imminent annihilation near Britannia.
  • Crocodile called Katakuri and urged his family to flee hundreds of nautical miles from Britannia after the warship’s Ancient Weapon was revealed.

Ch. 465Avalon's Roar

Gawain and Britannia unveiled Pluton, a ley-line-powered Ancient Weapon built in just over two years, and used it to devastate the forces surrounding Britannia. The Five Elders realized the threat Pluton posed, just as an unfamiliar figure entered Mary Geoise.

  • Vegapunk and Britannia's officers gathered around Pluton, while Franky served as its central control system and Gawain ordered him to fire.
  • Avalon unleashed a massive pillar of light that spread across the surrounding seas, prompting Akainu, Kizaru, Katakuri, and other forces to retreat.
  • Pluton's rays obliterated pirate ships and fleets near Britannia, including King's fleet, while Katakuri's group escaped.
  • A ray destroyed the receiver transmitting the attack to Mary Geoise, and the Five Elders recognized the weapon as Pluton and feared its power.
  • An unfamiliar figure entered Mary Geoise and greeted the Five Elders with laughter.

Ch. 466Crushing You—What Does It Have to Do with You?!

Blackbeard delivered the Five Elders an ultimatum on behalf of an unnamed ruler while Avalon annihilated the fleet attacking Britannia. As the Marines reckoned with Britannia’s power and debated humanity’s escape from the rising sea, Tsuru insisted that reaching the moon was the only lasting solution.

  • Blackbeard appeared before the Five Elders, told them to give up their positions after Britannia’s affairs were settled, and warned that their lives depended on what they did next.
  • Avalon’s bombardment devastated the pirate fleet surrounding Britannia, leaving wreckage, burning survivors, and cries for help across the sea.
  • King and Queen washed ashore gravely wounded; Queen urged King to stop fighting Knight Gawain and think of himself, then died as King lost consciousness.
  • Akainu and Aokiji assessed the destruction and questioned whether Britannia could be a better choice than the World Government, while Akainu doubted that the promised escape ships to the moon existed in the claimed numbers.
  • Sengoku argued that humanity had no choice but to rely on whoever could survive the coming flood, and Akainu suggested that floating islands might provide refuge.
  • Tsuru rejected floating islands as only a temporary refuge and declared that reaching the moon was the only way to preserve humanity until the seas receded.

Ch. 467Prelude to the Age of Sky City!

Akainu accepted the World Government’s order to attack Britannia for the sake of humanity’s survival, but he and the Marines considered joining forces with Gawain instead. Meanwhile, Gawain used the Float-Float Fruit to raise Britannia into the sky, while Imu learned of the continent’s flight as the final battle approached.

  • Saturn ordered Akainu to invade Britannia, arguing that the Moon Ark was humanity’s only salvation and that Gawain would personally intervene.
  • Akainu rejected the idea of sacrificing his Marines for the Celestial Dragons and asked whether they could seize places aboard the Moon Ark for others; Aokiji suggested allying with Gawain.
  • The warship carrying Akainu, Sengoku, Garp, and the others shook as Britannia began to change.
  • Imu gathered his forces in Mary Geoise and declared that their performance in the coming battle would determine who could board the Moon Ark.
  • Gawain confirmed that Kuro had evacuated Britannia’s civilians, then used the Float-Float Fruit and ley-line energy to lift the continent from the sea.
  • Big Mom recognized that Gawain was raising all of Britannia into the sky, and a CP0 agent reported the continent’s flight to Imu.

Ch. 468World-Shaking, Another Possibility!

Gawain lifted Britannia into the sky, giving survivors a possible refuge from the rising sea and the World Government’s Moon Ark. As pirates and Marines considered what the feat meant, Sengoku realized it might connect to Britannia’s legend of immortality.

  • Big Mom tried to flee, but S-Dragon intercepted her while carrying the wounded King the Conflagration, and they began fighting.
  • Survivors saw Britannia rising and began to view it as an alternative to the World Government’s Moon Ark, though the tsunami from its ascent threatened them first.
  • Katakuri and the Big Mom Pirates concluded Gawain had lifted the continent and decided Britannia could offer a home for Katakuri’s family.
  • The Marines debated whether Gawain had used the Float-Float Fruit, and Garp wondered how many people Britannia could shelter.
  • Sengoku realized Gawain may have chosen Britannia for more than its suitability as a battlefield, and Tsuru connected his insight to the kingdom’s legend of immortality.

Ch. 469The Marines Rebel, the Straw Hats Set Sail!

As Britannia rose into the sky to shelter humanity from the sinking world, Sengoku and the Marines turned against the World Government, while Luffy and Kid headed toward the flying continent. Imu saw Britannia's ascent and struggled to understand how Gawain had achieved it.

  • Sengoku explained that Gawain had pursued the Float-Float Fruit to raise Britannia into humanity's last refuge, and Aokiji and Kizaru confirmed that Britannia had no nobility or Celestial Dragons.
  • Garp urged Sengoku to fight the Celestial Dragons, and Marines including Doberman, Kuzan, Onigumo, and Akainu threw their Justice cloaks into the sea and resolved to oppose the World Government.
  • Sengoku warned that Britannia would become the next battlefield as Imu's malice swept toward the flying continent, and Akainu told the Marines to act according to their beliefs.
  • Kid recognized Britannia in the sky as the continent that had recently been at sea, while Luffy transformed into Gear Fifth and carried the Straw Hats' ship upward toward it.
  • Imu watched a projection of Britannia above a sea of clouds and questioned whether Gawain had used the Float-Float Fruit or another means to raise the continent.

Ch. 470The Battle for Survival: A Fight to the Death!

Imu and the Five Elders feared that Gawain had planned to secure eternal life and raise Britannia above the coming flood, while Gawain successfully lifted the continent into the sky. He then ordered Avalon to fire toward Mary Geoise, as Kizaru realized too late that the weapon was targeting the Celestial Dragons' home.

  • Garling proposed that Gawain had found a substitute for the Soul-Soul Fruit and intended to make Britannia immortal before lifting it above the flood.
  • Saturn and Imu concluded that Gawain had manipulated the Marines, Blackbeard, and other powers as part of a long-term plan, while Blackbeard admitted he had served as Gawain's scapegoat.
  • Imu rejected the idea of cooperating with Gawain and declared that he would seize Gawain's body and take Britannia for himself.
  • At Britannia's Technology Development Bureau, Gawain used the Float-Float Fruit to raise the entire continent and bring it to a halt in the sky.
  • Gawain approved Bullet's suggestion to attack Mary Geoise, and Avalon charged up while the approaching Marine fleet watched.
  • Kizaru flew toward Britannia to propose an alliance against the World Government, but Avalon fired a beam toward Mary Geoise before he could reach Gawain.

Ch. 471The End of Mary Geoise

Imu vowed to seize Britannia, but Gawain’s Ancient Weapon destroyed Mary Geoise in a massive strike. As Dragon and the Revolutionary Army feared the loss of the Moon Arks meant humanity had no hope, Sabo reported that Britannia was rising into the sky.

  • Imu and the Five Elders prepared to seize Britannia, confident Imu could defeat Gawain.
  • A barrage of Ancient Weapon beams struck Mary Geoise, vaporizing Pangea Castle, the Celestial Dragons, and much of the Red Line.
  • The Revolutionary Army witnessed the destruction, and Dragon feared the Moon Arks and their blueprints had been lost, leaving the world doomed to sink.
  • Sabo called Dragon and reported that Britannia was flying, revealing Gawain had prepared a way to survive the sinking world.
  • Dragon told Sabo that Mary Geoise had been erased and an enormous gap had been carved into the Red Line.

Ch. 472The Final Battle!

After Mary Geoise was destroyed, Imu and his surviving allies escaped to Britannia, where they confronted Gawain and his assembled fighters. Gawain challenged Imu to face divine punishment, while Imu vowed to take Gawain’s body and power.

  • Dragon learned from Sabo that Mary Geoise had been destroyed, but the Den Den Mushi connection cut off before he could confirm Imu’s fate.
  • Sabo sensed a hellish presence over Britannia, crossed to the island, and found thick black smoke rising from its interior.
  • Imu and the surviving Five Elders, Blackbeard, Rayleigh, and their allies appeared in Britannia after escaping the Ancient Weapon’s attack, and Imu raged over his losses.
  • Gawain’s fighters arrived aboard a warship and prepared to face Imu’s group, with Kuro identifying Imu as their main target for Gawain.
  • Gawain appeared before Imu and challenged him to face divine punishment, while Imu declared that he would take Gawain’s body and power.

Ch. 473Imu's True Identity!

Gawain took Imu away from Britannia and repelled her attempt to possess his body, identifying her as the will inside a Mythical Zoan Human-Human Fruit. Meanwhile, the World Government’s forces were overwhelmed by their opponents, and Saint Ethanbaron’s plea for Imu’s help ended as a vast black aura erupted around him.

  • Gawain recognized that Imu wore Queen Lily’s face, then seized her and carried her away from Britannia to prevent their fight from sinking the island.
  • The battle erupted across Britannia as Sanji attacked Saturn, Zoro fought Saint Nusjuro, and the other combatants engaged their assigned opponents.
  • Imu tried to take over Gawain’s body, but his Immovable Body ability repelled her and Gawain concluded that she was the will residing in a Mythical Zoan Demon Form fruit.
  • The Marines, Straw Hat, Sabo, Katakuri, and their allies gained the advantage as Akainu, Aokiji, Ryokugyu, Kizaru, and Garp attacked the World Government forces.
  • Saint Ethanbaron called for Imu to seize Gawain’s body, then froze as a vast black aura erupted around him.
