After leaving Kunai marked with the Flying Thunder God Formula with Karin and Haku, Shinichi used the Summoning Technique to call forth the Hellhound Tenja. If he was heading out, he naturally needed a flashy mount.
Travel on foot? That wasn't Shinichi's style.
After all, this lazy bastard even used Kamui to go to the bathroom.
"Master."
The enormous Tenja stood there like a mountain, meekly lowering his noble head.
"Tenja, I need to visit Sunagakure. Sorry for the trouble, but I'll need you to be my mount."
"It would be my honor, Master."
Shinichi jumped straight onto Tenja's back and set down the lounge chair he had prepared long ago. He even used Inorganic Reincarnation to bind Tenja's fur securely to the chair before settling into it comfortably.
This was his ride!
No matter how fast Tenja ran, he wouldn't have to worry about falling out of his lounge chair.
Since he had to travel anyway, doing it lying down was obviously the way to go!

Karin's lips twitched as she quipped, "What kind of ninja travels like this?"

Haku's eyes held a hint of anticipation.
