Shinichi gave Kakuzu the location of Orochimaru's hideout along with a handwritten letter. Once Orochimaru saw it, he would naturally welcome Kakuzu. After all, Shinichi had already discussed putting Kakuzu in charge of their finances with him.
"Boss, aren't you afraid I'll sell you out once I leave?"
Seeing how much Shinichi trusted him, Kakuzu actually felt a little uneasy. "If I tell the leader of the Akatsuki about this, Orochimaru might just..."
"I can afford to give you that much trust."
Shinichi waved a hand, cutting him off. "Besides, would you betray money?"
"Of course not."
Kakuzu frowned slightly and said firmly, "Money will never betray me, and I will never betray money."
"There you have it."
Shinichi smiled. "You're a smart man. You know who to follow to make more money. I trust your judgment, and I trust my own eye for talent even more. Go find Orochimaru without worrying!"
Trust the people you hired; don't hire people you distrusted.
He, Hatake Washing Machine, had at least that much generosity of spirit.
Most importantly, he understood Kakuzu well. He was confident that Kakuzu could never refuse the terms he offered.

Hearing Shinichi's words, Kakuzu was so stirred that he couldn't help giving him a thumbs-up.
