"Hey, you there, Conan. What exactly are you going to Kirigakure for?"
When Shinichi continued to ignore her, Mei Terumi actually grew a little puzzled.
Was she not pretty enough?
That was how women were: they didn't want you getting any improper ideas about them, but they didn't want to have no appeal at all, either.
"I have to answer just because you asked? Where would that leave my dignity?"
Shinichi curled his lip.
"You!"
The sight of that handsome, infuriating face made Mei Terumi's temper flare. "You people from Konoha really are all rotten!"
"So everyone in Kirigakure is a good person, then?"

Kirigakure was remote, making it difficult not only to receive intelligence from the outside world, but also to send information out.
So why did this Konoha ninja know about Kirigakure's current situation?
"Why bother playing dumb with me?"
Shinichi sneered. "Ever since your Fourth Mizukage took office, haven't people been dying in Kirigakure every day? If I hadn't stepped in to save your hotheaded ass today, you'd probably be a corpse by now, too."
Of course, he was making that up.
If Mei Terumi could die so easily, there wouldn't have been a later storyline where she became the Fifth Mizukage.
"How much do you know about Kirigakure? And what exactly are you after?"
Mei Terumi's voice grew grave.
With someone like Shinichi suddenly appearing in the Land of Water-his identity unknown and his strength terrifying-she couldn't afford to let her guard down.
"If I said I came to help Kirigakure, would you believe me?"
Shinichi considered it,
