Lu Mian naturally understood what Yu Song was trying to say.
"Cloudsun City... is there anything special about it?"
Lu Mian asked.
"Cloudsun City is fifty li from New Sun City. There's nothing particularly special about it. Both cities were built after the Heavenly Calamity."
Yu Song said.
"Chief Constable Yu, you haven't mentioned this to anyone else, have you?"
Lu Mian asked seriously.
"No... I've only told you, Master Lu."
Yu Song said solemnly.
He was willing to tell Lu Mian because, when they first met at the city gates, he had noticed that this master seemed different from the others. He lacked their lofty, aloof air, as though they stood above the mortal world.

Lu Mian instructed him.
Whatever might be happening in Cloudsun City was certainly not something a lowly chief constable like Yu Song could get involved in.
Hearing how serious Lu Mian sounded, Yu Song knew this was no simple matter.
He nodded. "Rest assured, Master Lu. I won't breathe another word about it."
"Good." Lu Mian trusted that anyone capable of becoming chief constable would understand what was at stake.
Yu Song took his leave.

A masked figure dressed in black slipped out of New Sun City.
It was none other than Lu Mian.
His real body, at that.
Meanwhile, his Mirror Nightmare clone was drinking at a tavern with several outer disciples from the local station, determined not to leave until they were drunk.
That gave him a perfect alibi.
Lu Mian had only one goal: to
