The cooperation agreement with Vinaniels was officially signed a week later, and Haoyu Pharmaceutical Group's share price rose by 15%.
This successful international partnership brought the company unprecedented opportunities for growth and ushered it into a period of stability. It also finally allowed Xiao Tianhao and Huang Shujian to step away from their heavy workloads for a while.
On a sunny Friday afternoon, Xiao Tianhao pushed open the office door and found Huang Shujian still diligently sorting through documents.
"Shujian, put your work down." He leaned against the doorframe, his tone relaxed. "Thanks for all your hard work these past few days. Come on, I'll take you somewhere to unwind."
Huang Shujian looked up, confusion in her eyes. "Chairman, these documents need to be finished today..." "Call me Tianhao." He approached and gently pressed down on the documents in her hands. "There's no end to work. This afternoon, it's just the two of us. No chairman or secretary, only Xiao Tianhao and Huang Shujian."
Half an hour later, they arrived at Shencheng's largest amusement park. The park bustled with weekend crowds-married couples, fathers and children, young lovers, and more-with laughter and cheerful voices everywhere.
Standing at the entrance, Huang Shujian looked a little dazed. "I don't think... I've ever been to an amusement park in my whole life."
Xiao Tianhao turned to her in surprise. "Really? Not even once?"
Looking at the girl before him, he felt a sense of kinship, as though they shared the same hardship. In fact, having grown up in the countryside, he had only been to an amusement park once himself.
He clearly remembered that it had been a school outing with a time limit. They had only stayed for three hours and gone on four rides in total. Now that he was earning money, he no longer felt that same desperate childhood longing to visit an amusement park.
"My family didn't have much money, and my parents were busy working," Huang Shujian said softly, a trace of vulnerability in her eyes that Xiao Tianhao had never seen before. "Then came university and work, and I had even fewer chances."
Something stirred in Xiao Tianhao's heart, and he naturally took her hand. "Then today, we'll make up for all those regrets. Whatever you want to ride, I'll go with you."
They began with the carousel. Huang Shujian was a little reserved at first, but as they tried one attraction after another, she gradually let herself go. Xiao Tianhao, too, slowly rediscovered some of the happiness he had once known and cheered along with her.
On the roller coaster, Huang Shujian screamed and clutched his arm, while Xiao Tianhao shouted without restraint. In the haunted house, she was so frightened that she practically buried herself in his arms. On the bumper cars, she laughed like a child and deliberately rammed his car again and again.
As the sun sank in the west, they sat in a Ferris wheel gondola, watching the city slowly unfold beneath their feet. Huang Shujian leaned beside the window, her cheeks still flushed with excitement.
"Today was the happiest day I can remember," she said softly, looking at Xiao Tianhao with warmth in her eyes. "Thank you."
Xiao Tianhao gazed at her face, tinted red by the setting sun, and an indescribable emotion welled up inside him. "Having you with me today made me happy, too."
He took a small box from his pocket. "This is for you, to celebrate the wonderful day we've had."
Huang Shujian opened the box. Inside was a delicate pair of matching rings, their design simple yet elegant. "These are too expensive." Her instinct was to refuse.
Feigning disappointment, Xiao Tianhao explained, "I chose them especially for you. Don't you like them?"
"I do." Huang Shujian hesitated, then made up her mind. She took out the smaller ring and slipped it onto her ring finger. It fit perfectly. Then she picked up the other one and gently slipped it onto Xiao Tianhao's finger. "It looks lovely."
The Ferris wheel reached its highest point, and the whole city was bathed in the golden light of the setting sun.
Holding hands, they gazed at the golden city before them.
In this space that seemed cut off from the rest of the world, Xiao Tianhao slowly turned Huang Shujian toward him. One hand encircled her slender waist while the other rested against her back, and he slowly leaned toward her lips.
Huang Shujian's cheeks merely reddened before she closed her eyes, like a little lamb waiting for slaughter.
Their lips met in a tender, lingering kiss, carrying unspoken promises and feelings that grew stronger by the day.
That evening, they went to see a romantic film. In the darkness, their hands remained clasped together. Occasionally, they exchanged a smile, their eyes holding only each other's reflection.
After the film ended, Xiao Tianhao did not take Huang Shujian straight home. Instead, he drove to the city's most luxurious five-star hotel.
"Do you want to? If you're not comfortable with this, I'll take you home," he said gently.
Looking at him, Huang Shujian felt warmth flow through her heart. She nodded softly. "I don't want today to end just yet, either."
The presidential suite was on the hotel's top floor, with a spacious living room and bedroom. Beyond the enormous floor-to-ceiling windows lay the glittering city at night.
The attendant had just left, leaving only the two of them in the room. A faint fragrance and a subtle tension hung in the air.
They sat on the bed, and Xiao Tianhao gently turned her toward him and kissed her lips again. Unlike the gentle, tentative kiss on the Ferris wheel, this one was filled with feelings and longing that had been building for a long time. Huang Shujian returned his kiss, winding her arms around his neck.
When the kiss ended, both were breathing a little harder. Xiao Tianhao rested his forehead against hers, his voice low and husky. "Shujian, I..."
Huang Shujian gently pressed a finger against his lips. "Don't say anything. I know."
She took the initiative and kissed him, as though her action had flipped a switch. Xiao Tianhao's kisses grew passionate and urgent. His hand gently stroked her back, tracing the curves of her body.
Then they slowly sank onto the bed together.
Moonlight spilled through the window onto the bed, where two bodies intertwined.
A stirring melody drifted through the room.
