He uses moral accusations and personal connections to pursue his interests. His supposed rescue of Lin Zihan rests on fantasies rather than evidence, while his Jewelry Pavilion defense reverses the events to portray himself as the victim. He continues lying after a witness contradicts him 47 48 53 54.

His attachment to women is entangled with entitlement and control. He mistreats Steward Jin while drunk and privately worries that her Emperor Realm advancement might weaken his hold over her. His prolonged impotence becomes a source of insecurity and a major motive for seeking rare medicines 622 623 698 844.
