Kakuzu was a different story.
Uchiha Makoto went to "visit" him almost every day or two, "sharing" his "latest research progress" and "earth-shattering discoveries."
And after prolonged torture and brainwashing, Kakuzu not only began "telling everything he knew," but even... learned to fill in the blanks himself.
Often, Uchiha Makoto only had to make a start or deliberately keep things vague, and Kakuzu would draw on his past experience and knowledge to supply a whole host of "reasonable" details and conclusions, making the entire "lie" sound even more "credible."
This greatly improved his trustworthiness evaluations without him even realizing it, making it all the easier for Uchiha Makoto to milk him for rewards.
One day, Uchiha Makoto decided the time was ripe.

Pakura was held fast by sturdy restraints, her eyes wide with fear, anger, and a trace of bewilderment.
A specially designed gag sealed her mouth, leaving her able to make only muffled whimpers.
She was fully conscious, forced to watch as Uchiha Makoto prepared an assortment of surgical instruments gleaming coldly beside her, along with culture tanks that gave off strange fluctuations.
During this time, Uchiha Makoto had already "materialized" enough knowledge from Kakuzu about chakra nature fusion, the essence of kekkei genkai, and risk management for cell transplantation, though much of it was incomplete.
Combined with his earlier detailed studies of Pakura's body, this had allowed him to largely understand how Scorch Release worked.
It was simply the fusion of wind- and fire-nature chakra at a particular ratio and frequency to generate extreme heat.
Pakura herself had already lost most of her "research value" to him.
But disposing of her just like that seemed a little wasteful.
"Perfect. I'll put this waste to use and
