Chapter Summaries

Chen Mo and the survivors fought through a horde of White Mannequins, then faced a powerful Six-Armed Weird that overwhelmed Big Niu and Chen Mo. Xiao Ya merged with the Barbie Doll and transformed into a Sequence Two Weird-Thing Symbiote, but the Weird’s six hands still posed a threat.

• Brother Dao, Big Niu, Chen Mo, and the survivors fought off the charging White Mannequins, but one of Brother Dao’s men was dragged into the horde and killed.
• Big Niu shattered the last mannequin, and Donkey warned Chen Mo that a powerful Weird was approaching while a stronger one slept on the third floor.
• The Six-Armed Weird emerged, slammed Big Niu into the floor, and hurled Chen Mo into a wall when he attacked with the Surgical Knife.
• Xiao Ya merged with the Barbie Doll, transformed into a Sequence Two Weird-Thing Symbiote, and struck the Six-Armed Weird several times.

Chen Mo used his newly awakened Coup de Grâce to sever three of the Six-Armed Weird’s arms, leaving himself drained while Xiao Ya continued the fight. As Chen Mo and the donkey edged toward the stairs, hurried footsteps sounded from below.

• Big Niu charged the Six-Armed Weird, but she seized him and battered him while Xiao Ya attacked her.
• Chen Mo learned from the Weird’s memories that she had been a compulsive shopper whose soul remained trapped in the mall after the apocalypse.
• Xiao Ya caught the Weird’s attention and wounded her with a crimson laser, giving Chen Mo an opening to unleash Coup de Grâce.
• Chen Mo’s slash severed three of the Weird’s six arms, but it exhausted all his transcendent power.
• Xiao Ya pressed her attack as the weakened mall’s escalator began to reappear, and Chen Mo and the donkey moved toward the stairs.
• Hurried footsteps approached from downstairs just as Chen Mo reached for the railing.

Chen Mo and Red Hare stayed behind to kill the wounded Six-Armed Weird while the others fled, but Chen Mo found a vast icy cocoon surrounded by Frost Cicadas upstairs. After Weird power entered the cocoon, the cicadas awoke and the cocoon split open.

• Old Yang and Xiao Liu warned Chen Mo that Snow Corpses were overrunning the area and Captain Lin had ordered everyone to evacuate.
• Chen Mo ordered Brother Dao and the others to gather winter clothes and told Xiao Liu and Old Yang to carry the injured Big Niu out.
• After the group left, Chen Mo and Red Hare decided to kill the weakened Six-Armed Weird and claim its valuable parts while Xiao Ya retreated.
• Chen Mo climbed to the third floor and discovered thousands of Frost Cicadas surrounding a huge White Ice Cocoon.

Lin Lu ordered the Starfire Convoy to abandon Chen Mo and Red Hare and break through the Snow Corpse horde. After the convoy escaped, Red Hare Two started moving on its own and drove in the opposite direction.

• Xiao Ya emerged from the Supermarket and told Su Qian and Old Yang that Chen Mo and Red Hare had stayed behind to cover their retreat from a peak level two anomaly.
• Lin Lu used the Fantasy Phone to freeze the Snow Corpses and ordered everyone to retreat without waiting for Chen Mo and Red Hare.
• Old Yang took control of Chen Mo's Dump Truck, while Su Qian left a message saying to meet in Camel City before the convoy broke through the horde.
