His consciousness surfaced from the chaos.

The CP4 agent in the black suit rubbed the back of his head and struggled to sit up.

He remembered being hit, falling into the sea, and then... then he remembered nothing.

But the sight before him left him stunned.

Sunlight. Warm, gentle sunlight spilled down from overhead.

Not the murky light of the Rainbow Mist, but real sunlight, carrying actual warmth.

He lay on the soft grass of a hill. Several windmills turned slowly in the distance, and wheat fields swayed in the breeze.

"Wh... where am I?"

He stood up and checked himself over. All his belongings were still there.

He took out his pink Den Den Mushi and tried to contact the outside world.

The Den Den Mushi just stared at him blankly, apparently unable to "find" a signal at all.

-This is a Science Team Den Den Mushi, the one Rear Admiral Atlas gave me.

It worked even inside the "Rainbow Mist." Why wouldn't it work now that I'm "outside"?

Gritting his teeth, he took off his sunglasses and put them away, rubbed his face, and arranged his "expression." Then he headed toward the dock, where the buildings were more densely clustered.

Buildings were scattered sparsely throughout this pastoral farming village, and there weren't many people. From the hill, he could take in its general layout at a glance.

The dock area wasn't large either. It looked very rural.

There was a little tavern, a fish shop, a general store, and the like, along with a few vegetable plots.

The agent stopped a passing farmer.

"Excuse me, where is this...?"

Until he understood the situation, he decided to treat these civilians a little more politely.
