He stood on a broad platform paved with polished gray-white stone tiles. An arched ceiling rose overhead, embedded with lights that illuminated the entire space as brightly as day.
The ceiling looked to be over fifty meters high, its edges stretching into the distance with no end in sight.
Ahead lay an immense underground space. Orderly city blocks, carefully arranged buildings, and people and machines moving through the streets spread beneath the ceiling like some vast, meticulously laid-out chessboard.
"...Lord Sephi."
York's voice was a little quieter than usual.
Although he had deleted many memories, they had mostly been the other six people's "personal affairs." He had carefully preserved their knowledge and crucial information.
