Babbage and Kizaru descended, closing in on the edge of the barrier.
Half dragonized, Bondrewd rose to meet them, his dragon wings fully spread and his black trench coat snapping in the wind.
The vector thrusters on Babbage's outer armor adjusted his posture, sending his gray-iron body weaving through the air.
Both mechanical arms transformed and rose to take aim. Two shoulder cannons emerged, and missile launchers sprang out on either side of his waist.
Vermilion railgun fire pierced the air, forming sonic boom clouds. Blue-white plasma beams lit up the sky, a Vulcan cannon swept out a high-speed barrage, and twelve electrically propelled missiles followed close behind, converging on Bondrewd from every direction.
Kizaru swept in from the flank like Babbage's wingman. He crossed his hands, and two golden crosses of light shone in the sky.
"-Yasakani no Magatama!"
Dozens of golden light projectiles formed a crossfire with Babbage's salvo.
Bondrewd rolled sideways in midair, folding his dragon wings. An "invisible" force-field sword appeared in his hand, and he slashed horizontally.
"Dim Star."
The almost transparent force-field sword, visible only as a heat-haze-like distortion, collided with the electromagnetic cannon's stream. For a single instant, its invisible blade turned into visible "Vantablack."
The electromagnetic blast erupted into a dazzling burst of light in midair. Then it was "absorbed," as though it had fallen into a black hole.
-Could that be... the Dark-Dark Fruit!?
Kizaru had read the reports from Impel Down. Seeing this "new trick," he could not help suspecting it.
Meanwhile, his bombardment of light projectiles and Babbage's plasma beams skimmed the edges of Bondrewd's body and were "deflected." Bent aside by the invisible field, these energy attacks seemed to do nothing but trace his outline.
