For Reiju, today's lunch had been quite pleasant.
After all, everyone else in the Vinsmoke Family was abnormal, and she rarely got to have such a normal conversation with anyone anymore.
Still, Reiju kept feeling that although Satellite Shining was willing to answer her questions, he always remained just a little distant.
"Then, Mr. Shining, would you like to take a walk around Town with me?"
Once they finished eating and the attendants cleared the table, Reiju gracefully extended the invitation.
Actually, she was a little curious about the way Shining had tossed food into his plasma-sphere head during their meal and vaporized it.
-Could he really taste anything that way?
In a sense, breaking down food and drink, reading their chemical information, and producing a digitally signaled sense of taste felt far more wondrous to Sephiroth than eating normally.
Rather than simply being "delicious," it was a marvelous sensation that was difficult to describe in words.
"No, I'll be taking my band members back to Water 7 next."
Sephiroth had deliberately maintained a certain social distance from her. He hoped to interact with Reiju more in his original body later.
From a practical standpoint, his Satellite Shining persona wasn't research-oriented, and Babbage stayed on autopilot year-round, so he could only approach her as the Great Angel to learn about Lineage Factor technology.
Viewed that way, Reiju's earlier concern about being treated as a test subject had been partly correct.
But Sephiroth wasn't her freak of a father. He wasn't about to pull any messed-up stunts; at most, he would run some scans and take samples for testing.
On a personal level, Sephiroth had no intention of wanting something while pretending otherwise. He quite honestly acknowledged that he was interested in Reiju.
Reiju was certainly beautiful, but not to an
