Every diner stopped eating, watching as the servers solemnly lowered the enormous platters onto the table at Li Jie's booth, their concentration absolute, like devout worshippers offering sacrifices to a god.

The head waiter's gaze roamed over the booth before settling on Whelan, the only person who fit his mental image of someone capable of challenging such a monstrosity-even though Whelan was trying hard to hide in the shadows.

"Sir, your... tomahawk steak."

A barely perceptible hint of awe colored his voice as he motioned for the servers to place the first one in front of Whelan.

Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap!

At that moment, enthusiastic applause filled the restaurant, accompanied by waves of whispers and exclamations. Every gourmand seemed to have beheld the one true god.
