"Hey, my hand! You still haven't healed my hand!"

But Raven ignored Wilson's cries and walked lightly out of the hospital. Li Jie pursed his lips at his partner, then hurried after her.

A gloom that perfectly suited Gotham's overcast skies hung inside the van. Raven sat curled up in the back seat of the Patrol Van, wrapped in her black cloak like an exquisite statue. Her deep violet eyes were half closed, as though she had shut out all the noise of the world.

"Jay," Wilson suddenly said in a low voice from the driver's seat, "that gray Chevrolet behind us has been following us since the third intersection after we left the hospital."

Li Jie's eyes flicked to the rearview mirror. An unremarkable sedan kept just the right distance, blending into traffic like a clinging shadow.

"Want to find an alley for a tactical check?"

"No need." Li Jie shook his head. "Not worth the risk. Try shaking him. Let's see what we're dealing with."

Wilson accelerated and began changing lanes, even deliberately driving a few small loops. The gray Chevrolet still followed like a shadow, neither drawing closer nor falling farther behind.

"Their driving and patience are decent, but don't they even know to switch cars when tailing someone?"

"Maybe they don't think it's worth the bother. They just want to confirm where we're staying." Li Jie gave a cold chuckle. "Looks like we'll have visitors tonight."

Raven finally stirred in the back seat. She raised her eyelids and turned, looking back through the window with an indifferent gaze.

"The hunt has never stopped. These are merely another pack of hounds that have caught the scent."

"All right, all right." Li Jie waved a hand. "I really can't stand you rebellious teenage boys... and girls. Dale..."
